Re: Check river?

Why would you ever check the river? You're never going to get any value if you don't bet your top boats cause you're afraid of quads.

I met quads

Re: Check river?

And you'll occasionally have a boat beat by a straight flush.

But the number of times you make money by lower boats will cover the money you lose to quads 10x over. Not to mention, you will also stack people with boats when you have quads.

You can't worry about it. (I would say that there may be a case out there where you could slow down... You and your opponent are both very deep stacked. you're playing against a supertight and good player who could only be playing the way he is playing if he had quads....

lets say you raised PF with AAxx and the board comes A99. You bet he raises, you call. On the turn, you bet and he raises you again... you know he's good and knows that you are very likely to have a set of aces because of your PF play and your play on the flop on... Maybe in that case you might worry about quads. But 99% of the time against 99.5% of the players, you should be happy to get it all in here.

You seem to keep posting hands where you have top full house or top set and the nut flush draw or a 20 out wrap and you want to know whether you are overplaying it. If these hands are really representative of how you think, you should loosen up.

they arent. i was just having a good rebound day before this hand. The question I should have asked is what is the correct play on the turn? Based on the fact I held nut flush draw plus top set, the range of hands for him was 22xx/33xx/a5xx, with a small possibility of k suited clubs. Should I have half potted the turn?

Re: Check river?

if this is a 25dollar table, your range of hands for him is way too narrow.

He could call all the flop with 2 pair, straight draw, weak flush draw.

On the flop, on the turn, he could have trips or a lower boat.

As before, if you're going to worry about quads every time you have top boat, you're going to be losing money.

Regarding your turn bet: Bet as much as you think someone is likely to call.

Anyone make a value raise preflop? I am. You played it fine postflop.

Push all the way. This is in the FAQs. The only way you can fold this hand is if youre 1000 big blinds deep against a total nit with 1000 big blinds and he 4-bets the river, after flipping over his cards and showing you quads.

You should check out this forum

I think the check is fine here, you are badly out of position. I would often raise but it's a matter of taste.
