River decision vs. nitty reg

Villain is La Jolla Shores on ftp. I have him at like 17/13 over a significant sample. Some may question preflop, but i flat called for a few reasons, I had position, its hard for him to put me on AK here, and just for randomization. On to the hand, I pretty much had him squarely on JJ or QQ here or maybe even 99 up until the river bet, as he proly figures my main range for CC preflop is pocketpairs(another reason to flat call with AK imo), and i think there is like a 1% chance he would play a set, TP, or an overpair like this, as he seems like a really standard multitabling regualar. But the river bet seems weird to me given this. Is this anything other than a call?

yeah, flat it. you are good so so often here, but the vast majority of nitty regs aren't calling a river raise w/ worse (esp. since your read is that this is almost never top pair; ie KQ).

also kinda nice to show down AK here for meta imo

Yeah call is good, I wouldn't question preflop at all

I always call here and always lose, I don't think it's just variance anymore either. Fact is people never play KQ/KJ unless (maybe with hearts), and that's pretty much all we beat.

I dunno, I just think folding is probably best here even though I always call. In my experience this is something like T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] a ton of the time, occasionally a set, and pretty much never one pair or a draw. Flame away ..

I kinda agree but I never fold here anyway.

very nice read, he had QThh, which honestly i would have never thought was in his utg opening range.

And i also think he played the river about as badly as he could have agaisnt my entire range
