Preflop Question: Axs
 

I am in doubt about the best way to play A2s - A6s in general.
I usually play at 5handed 200NL tables, pretty loose not really agressive. And I know that poker is a situational game so that's it hard to give general guidelines. I also know pretty much everyone has some general guidelines since most of the time most players are unknown and you have to assume a certain standard villain (pretty loose/ passive/agr, depends on the site and stakes). So I would like to know your reasoning behind your general guidelines with the lower suited aces.

I always raise the suited aces first in from any position. But I'm not sure if this is a winning play. I don't think I make the nutflush often enough to make up for the kicker and missed flop problems.

When I'm UTG I usually have to play the rest of the hand oop with a crappy hand and most of the time a crappy flop since I don't pick up a lot of draws with these hands.

CO is a little bit better, more chance of stealing the blinds, better position rest of the hand, less people to act etc.

Btn is a clear steal with any Axs imo, so this is not part of my question. Also A7s or higher is a standard raise in a 5handed game imo. Anyone thinks differently about this?

What do you guys think of the lower suited aces? I would love to hear some theory behind these hands.

I think most here fold Axs in early position, some will open in MP, and most will bet/raise in late position.

if playing just for making the nut flush, then it is definitely not worthwhile, but you are playing for more than that. It provides profit from CBets just like pocket pairs that whiff and also adds to people not being able to put you on a small range of hands.

I would like to know why, if we know your arguments anyone can decide for themselves what they think is the best play.

it is soooo situational/table dependent...

if people keep folding when i raise, i'll raise pretty much A2C until i get played at. With donks/stations at the table, I tighten up and make sure I'm the with the dominating ace.

How you play at a table shouldn't be a set procedure. Play the situations.
