The Donk trap is set.... NO NOT THAT!!!

Another hand with Guldfeldt last night (78/24/3.5).

Basically the pattern here is that Guldfeldt will call ANY preflop raise if there are 2 people already in the pot. The only time he folds is to a 4-bet, or occasionally in an unopened pot, early position.

My play here is that I have a monster, KK, and I want him in the hand to pad the pot, and barring an Ace on the flop, I'm going to spring the trap there. One additional factor here is that the stacks are deep.

Full Tilt Poker, $0.25/$0.50 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players

Hero (BTN): $97.20
SB: $51.75
BB: $56.30
UTG: $276.50
MP: $50
CO: $50.35

Pre-Flop: K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (BTN)
UTG raises to $1, MP raises to $10, Hero calls $10, UTG calls $9

Flop: ($30.75) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 Players)
UTG bets $266.50 and is All-In, MP folds, Hero??

Another $87 to call here. Previously I haven't seen Guldfeldts big bets to be bluffs. I used up all my time meter on this, and saw villain openly claiming he had 99 here, as if that means anything.

Lastly, 99, 22, 33, 92, 93, & 23 are WELL within the villains range, even with a $10 preflop call. I saw much worse out of him last night. (But so is the flush draw)

Basically the question is, if you set a trap like this, and hit a seemingly dry board, do you spring the trap anyway in the face of such aggression?

From my experience seeing this- it's not usually a monster (but against this dude, he could have 92), but more like A9 or K9 trying to force out the flush draw.

I think I snap call here hoping I am ahead of his crap.

Easiest call ever.

Villain will have trash, 1 pair, or a draw a lot more than a set.

Seriously I don't understand what kind of flop you were hoping for. An overpair is practically the nuts against this guy. If he woke up with a set, it's just bad luck.

people don't open push with a better hand here (ok once in a billion times they might).

I call with a fist pump and scream no club!

Are 92, 93 and 23 well within the villain's pf raising range (24% according to your stats)? That seems unlikely.

It also seems unlikely to open-push with a set, as opposed to some other pp or top pair. I make the call here.

Which obviously changes to "One more club, more club!" on the turn

Those hands are DEFINITELY in his range. He stacked me a little while later when I had AA re-raised to $7 preflop, he called with 27os (No Lie), caught one 2 on the flop, called a pot sized bet, then another 2 on the turn, and then of course called my shove.

He also stacked my AA all in preflop with K8os. Stacked my AK all in preflop with AJos, 3-way for a $250 pot. Stacked my KK on the flop with QJ, and went runner, runner with to make a straight. He stacked Darth Canada all in preflop AA versus A10 by making a straight.

This guy was a true gem, the only problem was the FTP dealer liked him a little more than I liked him.
