Potential Collusion in 1k Supers at Foxwoods : Beware

During the weeks and months before the WPT even gets to town there are a lot of foxwoods grinder live pros that play the act 3's whenever they run and basically try to win as many 10k seats as possible.

A lot of these guys are obviously decent players but they openly talk in a friendly manner and talk about getting to the final table and chopping it up. They never seems to do anything but play super abc in pots against each other.

I'd seen a few funny things but i mean, a lot of people are bad so i just let it slide. But, today rainkhan told shaundeeb thayer and I that he played last night and believes the same thing. He witness a blatant looking hand where at 3k-6k someone opened for 25 ish and folded to a shove for a few k more. A lot of us have decided to not play the act 3s until the fields get larger.

Has anyone else who has played these seen anything?

good luck getting this garbage to change. Casino floorpeople generally won't do anything when it comes to regulars softplaying each other in sats. Every time someone complains they end up posting on here that the floorperson did nothing, etc.

Thanks, I didn't know this. I have seen the usual softplay in the medium stakes games, but nothing very serious.

In a related note I was wondering if anyone had noticed the nail marks on the Foxwoods tourney cards. I think I will do a new post on them.

Just get in there and form your own mutually-interested faction. Turn the act IIIs into Pokerbowl.

The same as all the high stakes SNGs and MTTs that I refuse to play anymore in South Florida casino. Nothing you can do, just stay away.

A few people I've spoken to in the last 2 days here mentioned the same types of things about the Act III's. Supers are almost always collusion-fests, especially at the end, it seems like it's taken to a new level at Foxwoods.

I've been approached by people wanting me to collude before (on Party a while back) in high stakes SnGs and Satellites. Pissed me off and ruined my innocent mind/outlook! Ever since then, I only directly buy-in to events and stay away from high stakes SnGs unless I see some serious dead money in the field and/or mostly people I believe are not/would not collude.

Satellites aren't that profitable anyway. Take a large sample and see how much money you save over your tournament entry fees, divide that by the number of hours you played, and most people can make a rate like that playing cash games (or just working a halfway decent day job!).

i was in the $1500 sitting in between 3 regulars who were talking openly about this [censored] today. mrtimcaum should be able to confirm. its like they dont even realize what they're doing is wrong.

as the OP said it seems like a bunch of them have several seats and are just looking to make it deep with their buddies and chop up the cash.

one of them was telling a story about how some of the regulars in last night's act 3 had a last longer going. could be wrong on the details but the jist of it was that there were 4 or 5 seats and they were down to 7 people. someone suggests that if one of the guys still in the LL bubbles, he should get the 2k since winner should be getting a seat anyway. now one of the players still in the LL has a big time chip lead and objects. he says he'd like to keep the original rules. he winds up winning the seat the 2k last longer bet.

so douche on my left today goes on and on about this story telling all the other locals exactly which guy it was who objected and how big of a dbag move it was. he then said that the next time he played with him he was gonna go for the throat and that they all should to. he made sure to repeat himself several times that they should all repop him at will next time they are at his table. this obv leads me to believe that they ordinarily play very friendly with one another and then get cutthroat with people who are out of their clique.

i guess looking back on it he didnt really say anything too incriminating. but you get the feeling that playing buddy buddy is very commonplace here.
