User: Cent, a scammer?

I saw this post today and went ahead and perma-banned Cent. I thought it may need some additional information before making a final decision. Anyone have any info or comments about this?

Mike has been banning people scamming transfers in the huge Zoo thread. I think its fine. The distinction was that people can't use 2+2 to scam, but that we wouldn't worry about people scamming outside of 2+2.

I also need at least two reliable accusations of alleged scamming, and then I ban on the grounds that the person is "undesirable", rather than as being an alleged scammer.

if we are starting to ban scammers, there are about a dozen people i need to ban immediately

I don't mean to start a trend here, and I'm not completely comfortable banning someone for an alleged scam offense. Which is why I posted this here in the first place. At the same time, I do believe we should (as the #1 poker forum on the internet) hold our members to a standard of "honesty" (bad word choice, I know) and not facilitate the means for people to be ripped off.

If it can be proven that someone used this site to scam someone, they should be banned. Without solid evidence, banning an alleged scammer isn't our responsibility.

I did unban him per your instruction. I'm not aware of any "solid" evidence.

I don't think we need to be judge and jury here. If someone is repeatedly being accused of scamming, that's something we just don't want to deal with. It takes up moderator time and results in unhappy regulars. So we tell them they're not welcome here any longer.

If someone is disruptive, that's an okay reason to ban. But the reason is not because they are a suspected scammer in that case.

Moreover, if enough people I trust tell me that someone is scamming, I consider that solid evidence.
