WTF ZeeJustin

Sat Nov 10 17:55:08 PST 2007 Bonomo Busts On the Final Hand of the Night Justin Bonomo raises 16,000 preflop and Mike Vela calls on the button. On a flop of AA8 Vela bets 25,000 and Bonomo makes the call. The J hits on the turn and Vela open shoves for over 400,000. Bonomo goes into the tank for about five minutes and then makes the all-in call. Vela flips up AJ and Bonomo tosses his cards face down into the muck. The dealer flips them over and 9-8 sits on the table. The 3 falls on the river and Bonomo is eliminated from the tournament on the final hand of the night. Vela finishes with 676,000. What kind of call is this?!?!? O let me guess im an idiot and this is "standard" right? Bubble Boy = bonomo |

[/ QUOTE ] Why don't you admit you have no idea what the flow of the table was like, how ZJ was playing, how ZJ's opponent was playing, and that picking out a hand out of context is a really easy way to rip someone's play? |
Re: WTF ZeeJustin
Quick -- someone should make a joke about how ZJ folded an Ace UTG which skewed Vela's range heavily towards bluffs!!
|
Re: WTF ZeeJustin
Oh, and I don't even like ZeeJustin.

[ QUOTE ] he thought the other guy was bluffing maybe? [/ QUOTE ] Figured someone would say that.... 5 minutes in the tank and calls with pair of 8's why dont you just admit it's a bad call... [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, you've probably got a better read on the situation than ZJ. After all, you read it on cardplayer while he was only at the table with the guy for hours and actually in the moment. |
Re: WTF ZeeJustin
Your reply insinuates that there is some time limit to catch someone bluffing, otherwise its a mistake.
Are you really that stupid? |
Re: WTF ZeeJustin
WTF is with the dealer retrieving his hand from the muck? Probably some nit that wanted to see what 'that aggro-kid' was raising with all the time. [censored] nits.
|
Re: WTF ZeeJustin
He made an intentionally bad call to negate his edge at the other tables.
AMIRITE PPL |
Re: WTF ZeeJustin
how much did he call off???
this could have something to do with him having no chips and not wanting to come back the next day if he didnt have a shot at winning the tournament...maybe catch an early flight home or hope the guy was bluffing and get some chips to contend with |

[/ QUOTE ] I think I read in the JC Tran thread that all hands involved in an all-in have to be turned over to prevent collusion. I don't play donkaments though, so whatever. |

[/ QUOTE ] Its -ev if he doesnt call there if his read tells him he's bluffing. If he calls and is correct then he increases his chances of winning. Obviously he appears to have made the wrong read. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I dont even call here if I think my opponent is bluffing [/ QUOTE ] you have to play to win. if you think hes bluffing you have to make the call [/ QUOTE ] lol? if he has KJ he's bluffing. [/ QUOTE ] ok ill rephrase.. if you think he has air you have to make the play. though if you think he has air on the flop you cant really let him try and outdraw you. So personally I'd think the correct play would be to reraise the flop if you think he's missed. Obviously he will either re-raise or call in this situation and that information would determine your next move. The fact that he merely calls the flop kinda makes me think ZJ was trying to extract value from perhaps a pocket pair below 8's. I don't see how else you could justify a call there. |
