So i have moved up to 100nl and I ran well the first couple sessions...but I hit my first downswing...luckily Im still up a bit. Ive decided my progression in poker is going to be 100nl for 30-40 buyins...then 100nl HU for about the same (there will be withdrawls as well). I played a little HU today against what I thought was an average opponent and it seems like almost free money...except the rake sucks.

On another note, I really need to step my game up. I dont really have anyone to discuss standard spots with on poker via msn or PM even. If anybody is in the same position as me...currently, recently, or about to make the jump to SSNL, pm me so we can talk some poker. Thanks uNL

I like playing a mix of cash games and SnGs because when I'm 9-tabling and not focusing as much, I look around and I'm like "OMG I'VE BUILT UP A STACK TO $700." Until I realize, [censored], it's a tourney, I'm the short stack.

I find that sleeping beyond a "normal" night's sleep (6-8 hours) makes me more tired and groggy. Not sure why that is.

Sustainable? I'm actually mad that after 1.5 hours, I only put in 500 hands. That's what I get for playing SnGs at the same time. BTW, it's so hard to focus on cash games when you're playing 3+ tournaments. It's like whenever someone is all-in, I just have to watch and completely ignore my other tables.

I normally sleep 12 hours a night. But i stay up for 18+ hours.

[censored] 24 hour clock I need 30 hour clock as my schedule gradually flips during the week where I have to spend like 30 hours without sleep and get myself back to normal.

Yeah well, I will set a -5BI maximum for a day as of today.

right now I am on a streak to hit a 100K breakeven stretch

I guess most poker players have to pass through this at some point. I will fight back.

I have played 300K lifetime hands and without those psychological issues, it would be so much easier.

I feel tempted to play at work whenever there's not much going on too. However, I agree I'd rather stay focused than face constant interruptions. It's just hard to put in a lot of hands after work. If I am lucky I can get a 600 hand session in.

First off, best of luck. Second, sorry if I missed this but you are playing uNL yet you have the buy-in for any FTOPS event? Seems like bad BR management imo. Now if you sattied in, still bad BR management since you can't unregister and sell the T$.

my broll is at 3k. but FWIW I used 8 bucks to play a 18man 24$ satelite token, then used that token to play a 24+2 satelite and won a seat. I don't play tournaments often but I have good records in the large buy-in ones.

Re: ***uNL Microbrew Thread*** NOV 2007 (ot)

i've decided i don't wanna think anymore. i've worked it out, and i can make 100k/year through non-thinking poker.

i recently acquired a job that pays > 40k, so my living expenses + retirement is set. what it all boils down to is money, and playing a measily 4hours/day i can do this, but of course i'll be leaving unl.

when u think about poker, everyone; from the amateur to the pro; thinks about the bottom line -- money. so for me, i don't care about skill. i don't care about "props". all i effin care about is money.

i worry too much when i make a read whether i'm right or not, and always, even if i know the right move was right x% of the time, i doubt why i made that move. not anymore. goodbye 22/13, hello 9/3. weee!
