I've recently transitioned from STT's to 10NL/ 25NL. Won't be playing much this month (if at all) as I'm on a semi-holiday, but it would be cool to have someone I can ask now and then about hands and such. My msn is vicetwice@hotmail.com- add me if you don't mind a newbie bugging you and asking lame questions!

question:
i could play at party but i am not doing it right now
i play at stars

should i move half my roll to party and play whereever better games are?
or should is just stay at stars since there is no difference

Re: ***uNL Microbrew Thread*** NOV 2007 (ot)

so yesterday i decided to really pay attention to the preflop play of tight tags (some would say nits) at my tables. interesting what a person can learn. one guy 3bet a MP open with ATo from SB. Another coldcalled a 3bet with 88 in the BB when the the first raise was from a tight UTG (3bettor was tight too). another 3bet my MP open on the button with AJo (and i've been tight in early position). and so on. i had never noticed all this before because i was so busy with my other tables.

Then I would move my entire roll to party.

very nice. is that a mix of 50nl and 100nl?

thing85 11-28-2007 12:16 PM

Re: ***uNL Microbrew Thread*** NOV 2007 (ot)

Yep. 100NL after 19k hands.

Re: ***uNL Microbrew Thread*** NOV 2007 (ot)

thing85, how are you finding 100NL as compared to 50? I just started taking shots at 50 yesterday and I'm not finding it much harder than NL25. Just a tiny bit more aggression and trickiness, but nothing I can't handle.

Is the move to 100NL similar?

Re: ***uNL Microbrew Thread*** NOV 2007 (ot)

Fozzy, with 50NL and 100NL are on the same graph, the variance in 100NL looks large because of the way 50NL affects the scale of the graph. Those are somewhat large swings, but overall the graph is smooth. Fat guy (girl?) is cool imo. I don't think someone of that size can have much of an upswing, but if you were to bounce off of him, you could probably reach new heights.

doppel, 100NL is almost just as easy as 50NL IMO. Table selection becomes more important, but with it, you can find many tables that don't play much harder than 50NL tables. Biggest issues are slightly higher aggression, and getting used to larger bet sizes.

Re: ***uNL Microbrew Thread*** NOV 2007 (ot)

Certainly - but it still looks pretty cool, imo.

Graph of nl100 only?

I need inspiration. I have been goin thru long periods of +/-5 BI swings lately. Playin like dog poo for weeks now. No Motivation to Grind = Fewer hands played per day, and more 2+2 posts per day. On the bright side, I am finally watchin all these movies/tv shows I downloaded ages ago.

Re: ***uNL Microbrew Thread*** NOV 2007 (ot)

from my 20k hands at 100nl what i noticed that was different was more pf aggression. so whereas in 50nl i often can open in late position or steal open limps when i am in the blinds, in 100nl it often seems that i am facing a pfr before i get to act. as a result, my VPIP dropped significantly: from 19 or 20 to about 15. also people folded to my cbets much less at 100nl. also people always have a set at 100nl when i have one.

Are most of you guys playing NL50 on stars making platinum star? I've got like 800 vpps left to get by the end of this month so I should easily make it but I think I'm playing too much.
