MPG file will not play video, only sound

Wondering if anyone can help me out with this. I downloaded an mpg file, went to play it in Windows Media, and I get sound great, but no video. If I jump ahead in the video, it will play for two seconds or so, then once again revert only to sound. Anyone know what will cause this?

search for k-lite codec basic...its free, dont get suckered into purchasing this as some sites try to pass it off in a "packaged" set.

That is for sure a codec issue. Due what the above post says or get the latest divx codec off their homepage.

Get VLC Media Player and the Matroska Pack.
