FD in Big Pots

In both of these hands I flopped a flush draw in position. The pots were big enough that I am close to pot committed. I'm sure I really suck in these spots because I don't know why I'm doing what I'm doing.

First one is from FTP 55k. Villain is a good player and has been 3 betting frequently.

Full Tilt Poker, NL Hold'em Tournament, 4,000/8,000 Blinds, 1,000 Ante, 7 Players

CO: 65,468
BTN: 194,337
SB: 207,079
BB: 136,470
UTG: 97,052

Pre-Flop: (19,000) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (MP)
2 folds, Hero raises to 20,000, 2 folds, SB raises to 56,000, BB folds, Hero calls 36,000

Flop: (127,000) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB checks, Hero ?

This one is a little different because of the short stack all in. I think the flatcall from this tight BB is almost always 77+. From PS 109:

Pre-Flop: (4,400) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (BTN)
4 folds, Hero raises to 5,000, SB raises to 9,293 and is All-In, BB calls 7,293, Hero calls 4,293

Flop: (29,279) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 Players - 1 is All-In)
BB checks, Hero ?

In both of these hands I don't rate to be ahead and don't have a lot of fold equity. Checking behind and folding to a turn bet seems like I'm throwing away lots of value. Thoughts on all actions appreciated.

First hand fold pre, or shove if you think he's re popping you. Now you have to shove.

Second hand I check.

Re: FD in Big Pots

Given reads I'd rather shove PF in hand 1 then call. I'm uncomfortable putting this much in PF with a hand that needs to improve to win.

Any decent sized bet in hand 2 commits you and I agree this guys range is probably narrow. I'd take the freebie but I'd like to hear some arguements for betting.

Hand 1 fold or shove pf as played its a very easy bet. I think I like betting like 50k and shoving any turn

hand 1: either fold to RR or rejam preflop, leaning toward fold b/c ur hand doesn't rate well against most hands he's calling w/(99-AA, AK, AQ, KQ); definitely get ur chips in on flop
hand 2: I'd bet because u can definitely get a better hand to fold(any ace, KQ, some pairs) and ur doing pretty well against SB's range already

Re: FD in Big Pots

Why push the flop on hand 1? Youre getting looked up by any Ace that can raise pf, and dont have drawing odds? Is the FE from non Ace hands enough to make this +EV? If he doesnt have an Ace you may even see two streets free.

Re: FD in Big Pots

Hand 1 is a final table, should have included this in the original post. I did not intend to shove preflop on one of the other big stacks. Although I do like the shove or fold options now that I think about it. This villain is probably capable of putting lots of pressure on me until the two shortest stacks bust.
