Raising pre flop

Hi.

Iīve been playing Omaha high for a few days and I think I have a fairly good idea about what hands to play from what position. The problem is that I donīt know what hands to raise with pre flop. It would be great if someone could help me out with what hands to raise from EP, MP and LP. By this I mean GOOD raising hands, not the kind you use for postional raises from LP.

Greateful for any input

Here's my general rule: If at least one player has voluntarily entered the pot, I'll raise pot on any hand that can handle a re-raise.

What that tends to exclude among good hands are the pair hands except AA (JJ-KK). I'll raise some of those, too, but I'm significantly more selective. I'm also fairly selective about raising AA simply because you automatically get put on AA when you raise--hence usually making your hand LESS profitable when you hit top set, except for the fact that you can take down a bigger pot.

Hi and thanks.

So if I get this right, you basically just raise AA (but not every time) and against some opponents and in position evan JJ-KK, depending what the other two cards are.
How about the str8 hands like AKQJ, KQJT, QJT9 etc. Are these just limping hands and the kind of hands you raise OTB?

Re: Raising pre flop

you dont get it right
he said he raises everytime he is enough to call a reraise
and if you want to call a raise you should have (if its not HU) at least with str8 with gap or maybe pair+kind of a straight
or maybe kind of stra8+ace high flush and so on

you should absolutely raise any str8 card higher than 3456 in any position and be rdy to call a reraise

Re: Raising pre flop

An AKQJ-type hand with suited A is probably my favorite raising hand from any position.

I agree that all wraps can be raised.

Some others: suited A with 3 connecting cards (As4s5c6d), 2 connecting pair with full extension, pair wraps at least ss. Those are the main ones I can think of.

JJ also has to be pretty monstrous. I'd raise JJQKss or even 8TJJss, but not much less than that.
