ok so i was thinking today.

smoking weed, why do i do it ?

i decided to make a pro/con list. i came up with the following:

<u>Pros:</u>
Get numb
Hang out with friends
Meet new people
Have a good time


<u>Cons:</u>
Illegal
Smoking is bad for the body
Some people don’t like it
Parents
Money
Drug dealers

Kills your motivation
Smoke not good for lungs
Munchies make you fat

ha yeah i dont really get numb either. Although i got really really really f'd up and let my friends brand myself 4 times with a coathanger. Didnt feel it so maybe you has a point sir.

Pro: Opening a fresh bag of killer weed almost nothing in the world smells better
Con: Burning out, especially when mixed with alcohol.

getting numb is basically the same as getting high. i enjoy the numb feeling i get from weed more so than the high feeling.

The effects are different for everyone, but for me smoking legitimately makes me stupid for a few days, which is the main reason that I don't smoke.

No long term detrimentals have been shown to affect health with concerning marijuana. So you can take that off your cons. And I think KSOT summed it all up anyways imo.

it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that smoke going through your lungs is not good for you. the amount of damage done is TBD.

those complaining about lung problems can always use vaporizers to get the THC without the smoke.

i guess the main reason i still smoke is plain and simply that i like the mood it puts me in. can't beat a nice bong rip after a long day at work imo.

for me, the cons are lazyness and lack of motivation. i still get everything important done though. after 10+ years smoking, i've learned to actually kind of enoy the semi-paranoid feeling that happens sometimes.

Con: Most jobs drug test when hired. If you work in any type of atmosphere where you could get injured on the job, if you test positive after an accident you get fired.

Leaving the pop tarts in the toaster oven till the icing is molten and then grabbing them thinking it wont hurt that bad.
Forgetting to set your alarm and not getting up for work the next day.

Why is this viewed as such a bad thing these days in our society, alcohol is certainly worse.

For you folks living in nevada, did you vote for your last legalization legislation? I heard it failed by a narrow margin, like 43-57 or something. If this passes i may have to think about moving...

43-57 is not a narrow margin. Dukakis got 46%.

I don't smoke anything, but weed smells [censored] terrible. So that's a con AFAIK.
