For some reason I'm happy with the chip chop...I got third place $$$ and was 2nd shorty after Suzzer put a beat on me

Here's the stacks with $27,775 left in the prize pool.

Seat 1: ollynorth (360014 in chips) $6350
Seat 7: suzzer99 (260762 in chips) $5259
Seat 6: lllFSlll (207295 in chips) $4418
Seat 4: NEWYLUCK (192324 in chips) $4309
Seat 8: MikeMcQ1 (157083 in chips) $3880
Seat 3: Hassan (130522 in chips) $3556

It almost seems to me that the shortstacks got a pretty good deal, but I don't know. Help me understand how this was bad for me?

I had been in a few pots recently and had pots where I open raised and have folded to reraises, so that's why I limped pf instead of raising. Villain has also been moving some chips around and had reraised me a few hands earlier. What do you guys think of this?

The wife picked up a poker book at a library book sale. Here's some advice:

People you want to play with: Players with Tattoos.

Anyone dumb enough to have themself tattooed probably won't exhibit a lot of intelligence at the poker table.

------

If you are HU at the end of a hand and villian bets, what are the chances he's bluffing?

estimate his age and subtract that from 70.

------

There was a time when the conventional wisdom said to raise pre-flop with any number of hands (especially AA, KK, and AK) but recent computer analysis proves that it is often more correct to see the flop as cheaply as possible.

-----

Playing the rush (nuff said? well he does say Don't play purely garbage hands if the only reason is to keep a rush going.)

brag: lost internet in the middle of a session and called up my friend who rarely plays to take over. Ended up +$110 on the session instead of -$70.

If you guys were 29, just moved to a new city where you know <6 people, will not have a real job in the immediate future, what would your game plan be for meeting people?

I know how vague this is, but I'm bored an interested in seeing what you young little [censored] come up with.

Side note: Stopped by the local casino today and they had a 5/10nl game running I didn't have much money on me nor the time to play, but it's a good sign that live might be worth playing from time to time.
