Sacramento Poker

Anyone here play in the Sacramento area poker rooms regularly? I've started playing at Capitol, but the weekday action seemed a little tightish the couple times I've gone. Anyone have better leads, or have I just been unlucky?

Interested myself. Looks like I will be heading to Sacramento next week until August. I plan on making a lot of weekend trips to Reno but if the poker in Sacramento is decent I may play during the week too.

Capitol is usually not very tightish at the low limits (3/6 and 4/8) in the evenings and weekends. I have had a few sessions during weekdays that were pretty tight. Lots of retirees (or simply old guys who gave up on working).

It's located in a more blue collar section of town. Once the guys who work for a living show up, the games have gotten pretty good.

You will do ok as far as atmosphere at the Capitol, Limelight, Lucky Derby, Folsom Lake Bowl (all electronic tables), Deuces Wild in Auburn, Jackson Rancheria, and Cache Creek after the 19th of this month (when the new room opens).

Is Capitol where I'll generally find the best games? 4/8 seemed marginally softer at Cache Creek, but that's more than twice as far from where I live in Davis, plus you have to deal with the single-lane/no-divider highway to get there, and I assume half the oncomming traffic is drunk.

I also wish I could find a 6/12 as soft as Bay101 in the area, since the jump from 4/8 -> 9/18 is kind of steep.

I'm looking forward to checking out the Creek again after the poker expansion. I've run pretty well there in the past.

Cache Creek has the best 4/8 kill game around IMO. Limelight has 6/12 on the weekends sometimes. Call ahead and get on the list.

Some Cache Creek info...

It looks like the games they will spread will be

3-6, 4-8, 10-20, 20-40 limit

Three different no limit games- 100/200 200/500, and 1000/no max

The sign says they will also spread any other game if there is enough interest.

28 Tables, no smoking, very nice room.

March 19th. Be there.

Sounds pretty amazing, especially considering the uber-softness of the Creek. Still a big jump from 4-8 to 10-20 (I'm barely rolled for 6/12 atm) but there'll be some interest.
