FTP Rakeback for an existing account?
 

Hi, my friend signed up at FTP without rakeback by mistake. They won't allow him to change his account to get rakeback. Is there any way for him to get a new account with rakeback? Has anyone else ever resolved a similar situation?

I have the same question but want to add the following scenario: I have an account at FTP but have never made a deposit. Does this make a difference in being able to get rakeback for future deposits/play?

I asked the same thing recently. It appears that making a new account is technically kosher (if you have not deposited). But who knows what with Tilt's shenanigans.

Check the very first sticky thread. I'll quote PokerAddict here:

"Most poker rooms will not allow you to create a new account under your name. This applies even if you close your account first. This is especially true for Full Tilt. Please do not start threads asking about creating a new account to get rakeback for at Full Tilt. The answer is no. To answer the next question after that one yes you can have more then one account in a household (wife, brother etc.). This is also in the FAQ."

In the case of a player who has never deposited, it's usually not a big deal to create a new account at most sites. I've heard that FTP can even be a bit ornery on this, but I know a lot of players who have done it.
