TT getting 4-bet late in 6er Reb

Blinds 1k/2k
Villain is taggish but overaggro in stealsituations, reraised me couple of times and i begin to hate him. We both are huge chipleaders on our table and probably top ten in whole tourney.
~90 players left, 80 paid

BU (me): ~90k
SB : ~85

I am dealt TT and raise to 6k and get reraised to 18k from villain. As i said, i felt to need to make a stand against him and repop it 42k. He thinks for a while and pushes ai.
I hate me cause i actually need to call. I wasnt sure if he would make this play w/ AK and finally fold cause i´m fkn weak and still have an average stack.

I know i was supposed to call giving the odds, but i wonder how i could have avoided this setup.
-calling his reraise IP and play a rather small pot?
-overpushing AI after his reraise?

I think after his reraise you need to either push or fold. You shouldn't be raising to 42k if you're not planning to call a shove. You say he's overaggro in steal situations, which this is, so I would 3 bet all in.

It could be important to consider the fact that it is near the money bubble where you can abuse short stacks. The bubble can also play to your advantage if you 3 bet all in to maximize FE and put him to a decision for all his chips.

If you 3-bet, you pretty much have to call the shove. I'd probably 3-bet shove that way I don't have to puke if I face a fourth bet.

I would 3-bet shove to begin with. Bad fold, you're priced in even against JJ+, AK.
