Customized Chipset.

So...

I'm planning to buy a new chipset. Me and my friends play a 10nl or 25 nl cashgame on a weekly basis. The average amount of players is between 7-10. It happens a lot that we run out of chips, so that'w why I'm posting this topic.

I want to customize the set myself, but was wondering how many chips I need for a decent game with let's say the max. of 10 players (10nl)

-Amount of chips?
-How many colours/how many chips per colour?
-...

I know that there's google, and I found info already. But don't think it hurts to ask my question here.

Thnx in advance!

Re: Customized Chipset.

For a starter set don't think you need a full range of colors. 4 colors should be fine for just about any situation. One of the things that messes me up sometimes is when Blue and Black chips are used at the same time. They can be difficult to distinguish in certain lights. Get red, white, black, and green. You'll probably use the green the most as quarters so get a bunch of those. Most games we use only Green and Black and use Red for coloring up later in the night if we are playing a cash game and there have been a number of re-buys. People like to have a bunch of chips in front of them, but more than 100 chips in front of every seat is too many.

If you're going for a 1,000 chip set, I'd go with
400 Green
300 Black
150 White
150 Red

Order from a source from which you can order more in bundles of 50 or 100.

chiptalk.net has all the answers

Also, www.homepokertourney.com has some info on tourney setups. Get samples if you are picky.

I would recommend www.palmimports.com custom ceramics.

Re: Customized Chipset.

Here is an example:

10 players (10nl) Blinds? How about 05/.10.

Red -> 0.05 -> 15
Green -> 0.25 -> 13
White -> 1.00 -> 6

Chipset:
Red - 200
Green - 150
White - 100
Black - 50 (use as $5 chip)
