Traveler\'s Checks in Vegas?

Needed to bring a decently large amount of money to Vegas. Do most casinos (or at least the one I'm staying at) cash these in large amounts?

I'm going to be staying partially at the MGM Signature and partially at Caesar's

I cant say the front desk a Singature will, as I have no experience there.I would assume even if they dont cash them, they accept them as payment. Email them, they have a guest services dept.
On a brighter not I have never not been able to cash an Amex Traveller cheque at a casino cage, and many stoes accpet them as payment also.

Just wire the money like a normal person, traveler's checks are for senior citizens.

What if you want to move around and play in whatever casino you want? Traveler's Checks seem like a perfect choice.

I use traveler's checks and have never had any problem cashing them. You have to cash them at the cashiers cage in whatever casino you are in since the poker room/cage won't take them. My experience is that they will cash any amount you want (with proper ID of course) but I haven't tried anything huge. I have AAA and if you call ahead they will get in $500 denominations which are a lot more convenient, and free.

I was staying at the Wynn last November and they refussed to cash mine as I wasn't playing enough table games/slots. I ended up having to take a cab to the bank and cash them.

Just wire the money, and take out cash when you get there to travel around.

I use an ankle wallet (granted, only sightly less ghey than TCs), up to 10K will fit flush against your leg and no one will know it's there. Unfortunately I only had time for a one-liner earlier as I was headed to bed but for future reference traveler's checks are the worst option, you will definitely find places that won't take them as it is costing them a percentage every time they cash one like a credit card, I think it's like 3%. Not worth the effort of buying, standing in cage lines, and then redeeming the leftovers...and if you win you are going to be carrying around a bunch of cash anyway.
