how much to bet to protect hand (General Question)

I keep hearing people critize others for not betting the pot on a flop with a flush draw or some other draw. When people bet 2/3 of the pot, otheres comment bet more.

Okay, so how much do you bet against someone assuming
1 player and 2 playres assuming

a. flush draw
b. straight draw
c. A person has 1 pair vs your AA

if you are certain that they are on an 8 out draw, the just bet the highest amount you think they will call that is at least 1/2 of the pot.

i also find this interest because when i watch the WPT, a lot of players bet way too little into someone with a flush draw. Sexton goes wow bettting. I see people on WPT bet like 1/3 of the pot into someone with a flush draw and Sexton goes wow at making a bet.

Does sexton even know about how small a price that guy is betting is wrong?

Just bet two thirds of the pot two thirds of the time whether you hit the flop or not, regardless of the board.

?

you seem to be looking for a cure-all panacea and it just doesn't work like that.

If you think they will fold anything more than 1/2 the pot with their draw, then bet 1/2 the pot. If you think they will call pot, bet pot. If you think they will call all in with only 8 outs then just overbet shove all in.

if they are a donkey over bet the pot, if they arent and its on the flop and you bet the pot youll probably get shoved at anyways, so just play some poker.
