UltimateBet - WTF another withdrawal issue.

So I tried cashing out from UB a couple days ago.

Today I look at my account, my pending withdrawal is gone(money put back into main account) and I receive no e-mail or notes in my transaction history. Finally I look at review/cancel payouts and I have this message under my cancelled withdrawal:

"Your withdrawal could not be processed due to minimal play"

There is no link to figure out wtf they're talking about or how much I have to play to retrieve my money. I have played a few hours there since depositing a couple months ago. It seems to me that they're looking for anyway to justify keeping people from withdrawing their funds.

this is very scary to me. i have a lot of money on there and am gonna try to cashout to a minimal over the next few weeks.

fwiw ive cashed out 3 times by check since the neteller fiasco and never had a problem.

Re: UltimateBet - WTF another withdrawal issue.

I also have a lot of money there. If I don't get all my money cashed out it will be devastating. I should have learned my lesson from the Neteller fiasco. I won't make the same mistake again--going to try to keep a minimum on poker sites from now on.

Re: UltimateBet - WTF another withdrawal issue.

Meh...this post is not the least bit scary, this is pretty standard for UB, and somewhat understandable. They get hammered pretty good with fees on a lot of deposits, so they require a decent amount of play before they let you withdraw again...this has always been the case at UB. Play enough, you should be OK.

That being said, I'd agree that the plethora of posts for people's money being held for other reasons - random security checks that they are super-slow to follw up on, bonus abuse, etc...these are VERY disturbing.

Edit to add: This is not to say this policy isn't frustrating, and definitely should be explained on the website. Also, UB's CS is terrible. I just wanted to point out that this is normal procedure for them, and is not necessarily related to some of UB's other seemingly "rogue" behavior described in other threads. Good luck OP!

True, if it hadn't been in the context of all the other posts I wouldn't have been worried. I think I have played about 30 table-hours tho. It would have been nice if they'd sent me an e-mail to explain the situation as well.

30 table hours is significant, that has me a little more concerned. And you're certainly right about the lack of an email.

Re: UltimateBet - WTF another withdrawal issue.

Well, I'm sure it'll be fine if they've done this in the past. I was just a little panicked as I've read so much about UB problems this week.

so are you just gonna play some more hours and hope you can cashout in the future?

Yeah, what else can I do? I e-mailed them.

Re: UltimateBet - WTF another withdrawal issue.

In light of a few recent threads of problems I withdrew my entire roll from there Thursday. Hit my Neteller in about 24 hours and needless to say I won't be back.

Cool, they responded quickly to my e-mail and said they reassessed my account activity and I'm free to resubmit my withdrawal request.

never played @ ub before.. this is actual funds u deposited or some type of bonus money? how can they not give u back ur money u deposited? lol.

Re: UltimateBet - WTF another withdrawal issue.

For me the whole " you need to play some more is NO GOOD".
Yes that argument is valid if you try to cashout some bonusmoney that you get into your account asap. However this is not the case with UB. Also they have something called blackjack! So they offer ppl to loose their money on BJ but if you should strike luck and win they say go play poker and pay us some more rake? NO GOOD.

FWIW, I've played on UB a lot and made dozens of withdrawals, and never once had any problems.

Re: UltimateBet - WTF another withdrawal issue.

I don't understand how inactivity can allow them to reject a cash out request. That is absurd. Is there something in the initial sign up agreement when opening an account with them that would allow them to reject a payout request due to inactivity? They need a better reason than that in my opinion.

yeah, if you played a bunch a while ago, and then was nice enough to let them earn interest off of your money while you play elsewhere(as opposed to withdraw and then redeposit to play later), why would they wanna cause problems?

Victor 04-01-2007 04:22 AM

Re: UltimateBet - WTF another withdrawal issue.

"why would they wanna cause problems? "

what kind of problems can it cause? why would they want to give you money back when there are no repercussions?

Re: UltimateBet - WTF another withdrawal issue.

I am having the same problems as OP. I have tried cashing out twice and both times it says pending for a day then just goes back into my account. I have emailed them about 3 times. The first time they responsed back "we are getting conflicting information and don't want to tell you the wrong thing, your problem has been forwarded to management" I've emailed them twice since then and they havent even [censored] responded. They have been such a pain in the ass its not even worth RB. I'm moving to stars. Best way to move 10k from UB to stars?

I have been trying to withdraw several thousand out of my account for a month and a half now. I've attempted 6 withdrawals and everytime it's a different excuse. They're customer service is the worst I've ever dealt with. It really feels like they're trying to hold on to my money until they shut down.

Re: UltimateBet - WTF another withdrawal issue.

it would help us to know the reasons they keep denying your withdrawls.

it took a week but they let me w\d 10% of my bankroll. i dont have a big bankroll at ub, but it just sucks when they dont want to give you your own money back.

Thx for the tip. Guess I better try to cash some money out and keep my BR small there.

I have had NO problems with UB - lately or ever.

Eldon 04-03-2007 08:06 PM

Re: UltimateBet - WTF another withdrawal issue.

I too have played on UB for many years and never had a problem with withdrawals. I've been playing their turn bonus points into cash since it's inception; making withdrawals first thru Neteller and more recently by check. Never a problem until today when I received the following e-mail:
"We have recently been experiencing an increase in bonus abuse on our
site and our fraud department has been forced to perform security
verifications to minimize this activity. After reviewing your account, it
appears that you are collecting hours in order to convert your bonus
dollars to real money and your earnings are not related to game play. This is
a form of bonus abuse and it is not permitted on our site and if these
patterns persist, your account will be permanently closed and your
balance will be confiscated.

Please send us a copy of photo ID along with an explanation in order to
further investigate your account. Your account will remain closed until
the investigation is complete. Our Fax number is 1.800.783.9366

Thank you for your co-operation.

Anybody else receive this e-mail?

Re: UltimateBet - WTF another withdrawal issue.

What does "collecting hours" mean? Do you get credited with time at a table even if you're the only one there or something?

Eldon 04-03-2007 08:17 PM

Re: UltimateBet - WTF another withdrawal issue.

I don't think you collect bonus bucks unless rake is collected and you're active in the hand.

Has anybody pointed UB to the number of posts/complaints here? In your next correspondence with them, plz refer them here and tell them they're losing a lot of customers/faith.

Re: UltimateBet - WTF another withdrawal issue.

does the collect hours mean you only make money from bonus but are a loser in the games???

Eldon 04-03-2007 09:06 PM

Re: UltimateBet - WTF another withdrawal issue.

I've always made a profit; sometimes more, sometimes less than the bonus.

SweetPea 04-03-2007 09:10 PM

Re: UltimateBet - WTF another withdrawal issue.

It's clear that UB wants to confiscate the funds of anyone that collects more bonus than they pay in rake.

No more EV- customers allowed at UB.

Boy am I a sucker. Of course my withdrawal is cancelled and they tell me I didn't include the ABA routing number for my bank wire even though I most certainly did.

In response to OP's original comment, found this on UB user agreement.

"You may request to cashout and withdraw any or all of your Account Balance at any time after 48 hours of your last deposit and there is no requirement to play the Games in order for you to make such request ."

Don't know what to make of it.
