i thought about this hand for like 3 minutes. i'm still confused. it looks so donkish but i think its the correct play. you certainly can't check...

Obviously. It's a reraised pot, putting him on diamonds is stupid. People usually shove diamonds on the flop too, his hand looks like JJ or AQ or something. River is super standard.
