1/2 Nut Straight Slowplay

1/2 Effective stacks 230 6max
Villain is noticeably tilting and I have stacked him three times already on this table. He is betting hands hard and not folding much.

He raises UTG+1, SB call, I call with 3457 with clubs.

Flop A 2 5 Two spades: Checked to Villain who pots it, sb folds, I call

Turn J offsuit: I check, he pots, I checkraise the pot.

standard, or too risky to let him see the turn cheaply?

I wouldn't slowplay this ever. And the case that it's a FD on the board makes it even worse. As played on the flop, I like the turn. However, I think you'll get a fold most of the time.

Do you think leading the flop is the best play here, hoping he raises so we can push?

I like checking the flop, but its because its too risky to raise.

Far too many scare cards, you can easily lose your stack if you raise,
but after a check its minimum risk and often you will be in a very nice position on the turn.

I dont think of it as a slowplay, its just your hand is very vulnerable, you dont want to get comitted too early.

Idk, I usually check to the PF-raiser in shorthanded pots, and here the PF-raiser is tilting as well, so he will most certainly bet. My standard play would be to check/raise, because that's my my standard play with many hands. But if the PF-raiser could reraise id you donkbet, I like a b/c, c/r line more than a c/c, c/r line I guess. But as you obviously know, it depends on the villain.

I lead this about 90% of the time on the flop, but against an aggro villain who's tilting a little, you're line's perfect. Good adjustment.

He had AJ35 two spades, a hand that was flipping with my hand on the flop but was significantly behind on the turn. The river blanked and i won. This play worked well, and I am going to consider using it more often against overaggro opponents.
