TPTK General Question - readless on player
 

Given that you're readless against an opponent and you have TPTK:

Scenario 1:
let's say you standard raise preflop in position...1 player calls OOP, flop comes and gives you TPTK...and player c/r 3x your c-bet...hero?

Scenario 2:
let's say you standard raise preflop OOP...1 player calls on button, flop comes and gives you TPTK...hero makes standard c-bet and reraises 3x c-bet...hero?

very very very very very player dependent...

you really dont need reads to follow through, usually people aggression and VP$P help a lot here. If you have nothing, I would use a timing tell and board texture to continue.

but let's say you're readless or have only played maybe 5-10 hands with that person?

As capodu said it is very player depended and you can't give a general line here, also along with player/stat specific, also flop texture comes it to play fairly heavily in both of these spots.

the reason why i ask this general-type of question is that in my poker tracker stats, of the hands that i lose, i lose way too much money with 1 pair...so does this generally mean that i should be folding more TPTK hands when given sufficient pressure from opponents?

If you cant play TPTK hands profitably then fold them a bit more willingly. Also look over your hands and look at the lines that you took with them and when you should have folded.

This question is way to vague to give a concrete answer...

Need to know stacks & flop texture.

Assuming 100 bb stacks and a "standard" raise of 3.5x PF, if the board is highly coordinated often re-raise. If the board is dry (like A72r) often fold.

on a dry board, are we expected the villian to maybe have trips or 2 pair? and on a coordinated, you're trying to represent something stronger than you actually have?

its not so much what we are trying to represent but what the other guy can have. on a dry board he cant be getting aggro with a combo because there aren't any possible, so he must either have a better hand or be bluffing. some people also bluff with a good hand like KQ here so sometimes when you fold you fold the best hand. thats part of the reason why on a coordinated board where he can have a lot more hands that you are ahead of right now. he could have the same good but 2nd best hand, and now he can also have a bunch of draws. if he has any of those hands you should raise and make him pay. sometimes he shows up with a flopped straight or something but thats poker. it wont happen often
