Re: AA buy in and a half deep

It is a battle of the blinds. He might be making a play on your likely C-bet. Do you have any reads on the villain? Is he a donkey or is he a solid player? I don't know if you should check the turn with such a drawy board. I might lead out and see what happens... I like your bet on the river, it will probably get called by a pair of jacks

The only hand you have to worry about is JT or a draw. You can't put him on J7 or T7 unless hes a donkey. I would probably either RR the flop or give him a stop and go

That seems fine to me.
I like the way you played it.

Good PF raise.
Good call of his raise on the flop.
Safe turn card.
I could definately see betting the turn, but checking is fine too.
Good value bet on the river.

29/21/3 ... he seemed a little more competent than the average 50nl donk but i hadnt played him in a hand prior.

Re: AA buy in and a half deep

EDIT: Didnt see that he raised the flop, my bad. Yeah I'd play it the same, but I'd be looking to c/r the turn here bc nobody folds QJ/KJ/AJ there ever, [censored] stats, people dont fold TPGK. So I'd play it the same, against people that I know cant fold, even most tags at 50nl, I RR flop to $27.

am i the only one that thinks betting this turn is absolutely terrible?

Re: AA buy in and a half deep

I used to but you have to bet OOP IMO, if he raises, its a prob fold if hes not a donk. Checking gives him a free card and loses value.

Re: AA buy in and a half deep

Why would betting the turn be terrible? you still beat a large portion of his range. He just called from the BB and could EASILY be on a draw and looking for a free card w/ that raise on the flop or just have a jack and not believe you have an overpair

Re: AA buy in and a half deep

What do you do, as played, if the river is the Qd or the 9d? Do you still make that value bet?
