bets $1.25. Hero. UTG folds. Hero calls

River (board: 9h 2c 8d 5s Qd):

Hero puts Butto all-in for 30cent

First of all i was 5 tabling so didnt have any reads except for the tendencies shortstacks have at this limit.

My preflop check is pretty standard since i feel i'm not in good enough shape to raise there.

Then i flopped Top pair with a mediocre kicker. So figured i could take a stab at the pot and figure where i was then reevaluate on the turn. So i made a pot sized bet since everything below would be called by almost everything. The smalles amount of money i figured had some fold equity.

Both calls so on the turn i get cautious and check. UTG checks behind me and the Shortstacks puts himself allin except for 20cent.

My thinking was something like his preflop call range is anything between Ax-Kx to sc's and maybe small pockets. Out of that he would probably call the flop with any trips he hit or any drawhand (oesd or gutshot). Any middle pair topkicker is def within his calling range. 50/50 that he would either call or raise with tptk.

When the turn came it could've completed a drawhand. But shortstacks seems to be fond of slowplaying sets since he doesnt want to drive out the players. So i gave it a small chance he got trips/straight. Therefor left is Top pair medium pair, stonecold bluff or semi-bluff on a draw.

I know that it's marginal, very very marginal but my gut said that i would be slightly ahead enough to make it ev+ if i presume the UTG will fold.

Is my gut feeling crap or reasonable?

Ps. I know i shouldve reraised on the turn but did it really matter? :P

bet the turn.
check calling really is a bd line IMO, b/c you are strait up gambling on the river.

if he only has .30 left go ahead and c/r turn.
I mean why would you leave him w/ .30?

obviously bet/call on river.

in future, use a converter to get more responses.

Button should not be your concern on the turn, he only has around 15BBs remaining. You need to concentrate on UTG. I'd bet 2/3 pot on turn, this will essentially commit the small stack, but should give a solid idea about UTG's holding. Another reason to bet out as opposed to calling is if UTG has a hand like JT, if Button bets and you call, he's now getting 3 to 1 or better and may consider a call when he would've folded to your initial bet.
