Stars 20/180 - 88 in BB w/10BB\'s... BvB

I was all set to stop & go versus an LP raise, but it folds to the SB who raises 3x. I have little to no fold equity with a shove. Easy shove preflop? Just call and hope for a safe flop to shove?

You need to shove here. You have a little FE if the SB was stealing with trash, plus you probably have the best hand.

You need to chip up ASAP and this situation is about as good as they get.

U have 88 and 10BBs...u should not be trying to S&G against an LP raise...just shove, you're ahead of their range and if u call, you'll be open-shoving the best hand most of the time (which defeats the purpose of the S&G.) As played this is an easy shove over SB's raise.

Ahead of their range yes, but much of that range wants to see all 5 cards and a stop and go could make that difficult.

On this hand, I did push though since I didn't have the luxury of acting first anymore on a flop.

You have 10BBs...u need to double-up, not win 350 chips here. Winning the pot is not the objective (or shouldn't be the objective here.) The objective is to get your money in with a hand that has a better winning percentage than LP raiser's range. Maybe u can S&G with 44 here, but 88 has way too much equity. No offense, but an S&G w/88 here is just FPS, and def not the most EV+ way to play the hand. Please don't wait for a "better spot"...unless i'm playing in the tourney .

Easy push... Against standard players you should be doing this with 44+; ATo, A8s, KJo, KTs, QJo and JTs

Why are we discussing a Stop'n'go here? Villain raised from SB not late pos, making him first to act. The S&G is not possible here.

@ topic: shove.
