QUIZ: (possibly helpful to noobs)

NL200. 6 handed.

Effective stacks $200.

Hero raises preflop with XX from the button to $7. An aggressive 2p2 who 3-bets light reraises from the BB to $25. Hero calls.

FLOP ($51) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Villain bets $35. Hero raieses all-in to $175.

Rank the hands from best to worse?
A) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
B) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
C) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
D) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
E) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

I suggest that you think about it in your head before playing with numbers. The first one is pretty obvious but hopefully the subsequent ones will be interesting. *I know I've left out a key component but go with it.

Re: QUIZ: (possibly helpful to noobs)

1. 4c3c 34% equity
2. JJ 30%
3. 9h8h 22%
4. AdKd 18%
5. 7h7s 12%

Against a calling range which assumes villain has a made hand and is never drawing {TT+,66-55,ATs,KTs,QTs,JTs}. So when you figure that this play folds out hands like KQ+, 77-99 no matter what you have, and is only called by better, you have to reasonably assume you are almost always drawing unless you have the T beaten. In that case, it comes out to hands with more outs/equity, so 43s with its OES+BDFD comes out on top, while JJ isn't that far behind because it still beats the tens.

'rank the hands fom best to worst' - not quite clear what this means. Is it, which has the greatest equity against villain's calling range? Or, which has the most positive difference in EV between pushing and the best alternative line?

I guess he means which hand that has most equity against villains calling range.

OK depends on metagame a bit, I think.

Off the top of my head I guess JJ, 43, 98, AK, 77 given the likely situation I would be calling these hands pre.
