Comps at the Wynn (and/or Vegas in general)

Couldn't find any recent info regarding the Wynn specifically either on 2+2(except this Feb 06 post here ), allvegaspoker, or pokerwikia

I'm going to be staying at the Wynn for New Years (the nights of 12/30 and 12/31) at a $330/night poker rate. I'm going to be playing 1/3NL and 2/5NL depending on time of day.

A couple questions:
How/where do I get some sort of Player's card to clear my time for my poker rate?
Do I only get $1/hr that goes towards meal comps? Any sneaky ways to get more than this (preferably for the buffet)?

Thanks, I'm not very experienced with Vegas.

They will give you a ed card when you check in that is your room key and players card. You can try greasing a floorman to get a buffet, may or may not work.

KLJ,

Thanks a lot for this thread as I"m sure many others are also curious about the Wynn. I respect you a great deal. You can use your room key or you can get a separate card from the poker room(just ask any floor). As for getting extra comps, thats usually reserved for regulars who have developed some rapport with a floor person there. If its important to you, then I guess tip one guy the first time you're there, say hi to him(same guy) as you come the second time, then when you leave the second time tip him again and ask for a comp.

But I really don't think thats worth it, as you're barely even making money then. You're spending $330/night on a hotel- just spend an extra $20 or whatever it is for the buffet yourself. However, if you play any casino games then you should have no problem getting much bigger comps.

May I wish you the best of luck both in the weeks leading up to your trip and on your trip.

Love,
Assani

They can make the card for you in the poker room. You get much more than the $1/hour, basically as long as your clocked into a game you get a daily $20 food comp which should cover two meals a day in the poker room and I am fairly certain you can use that towards the buffet. Just ask a floor or chip runner for the comp before heading to the buffet, the $1/hour might cover the rest.

I was there this weekend and the guy sitting next to me asked if I had a card, I said no, and he just flagged down a floor guy who took my license and came back with a card 10 minutes later.

The regular said that if you ask the right floor people they'll let you go negative on your comp balance, but I don't really know who that is or how well that would work.

$20 a day?? I guess you'd have to ask for the comp before you order the food(in the poker room)?

Nah, Thursday at 1/3. The day when there was a dude sitting at a 2/5NL table with a sick stack of 24 grand (although if I heard correctly he was there for more than one day).

I started writing up a small Vegas trip report, but I'm kinda lazy.
