Re: Announcing a Short-Story Contest

eviljeff. Thankyou for the link. Do you know which story won last time?

I found the original voting thread (search around the same date range for subject "+vot -re:"), and it looked like there was supposed to be a runoff.

Re: Announcing a Short-Story Contest

Hi Lounge,

I hope you are all working on your short stories!

I will be posting the submission thread on Wednesday. It will run for 2 to 3 weeks (not sure yet). Anyway, I hope you at least have some idea for your stories as I'm really looking forward to reading them.

if it's anonymous, I think we should submit via gimmick account. it's easier for Katy and also then we could use the gimmick to answer any questions that arise in the commentary thread. otherwise I may end up bursting from not being able to comment on someone's interpretation of my story or just be like "actually I think the author meant this, lol."

I like the idea of using gimmick accounts as opposed to everyone being anonymous. As eviljeff said, it is a way to answer questions in the commentary thread. What do the rest of you think about this idea?? In the last contest there was a gimmick account and he actually did quite well

Here is a link to the Final Voting thread for the last short-story contest (such a close vote too!)

Results of the last contest - scroll down to Loungerat's post

Don't forget you can submit more than one story, so if your creative juices are flowing, by all means feel free.

I have an idea. But true inspiration comes one drop at a time. I must let the seed grow, maintain, and pluck the ideas at just the right time.

Anyway that you would like to submit is fine by me Katy. The posters should be brutally honest if they have to review behind an alter personality.

Gimmicks are fine by me, if that is the decision. Some of the stories from the first contest were pretty interesting. I've had a lot more spare time in the last few days so I've got one story finished. I am working on a second and will try to complete it before life catches up. JP - glad you are going to participate. I really enjoyed the variety of stories the last time we did this.

The contest thread will start tomorrow. It will run for about 2 weeks. Anyone is welcome to submit a story but judging will be restricted to posters with a certain registration date. Good luck and get writing!
