Re: Official Washington exposes Hawai\'i the Fraud Thread

They also managed to win the game effectively losing the turnover battle 3-0, and really only one of those, Brennan's fumble, was caused by Washington, the other two just popped out, and they outgained Washington by over 100 yards. Was it a great performance, no, do I think they're one of the ten best teams in the country, of course not, even if they had impressively won the rest of their results were pretty weak. However, Washington luckboxed just as much if not more than Hawaii, it's not like they were a clearly inferior team tonight.

Clark,

With all the [censored] you were talking about Hawaii early in the game, I can only assume that you haven't followed the Huskies much this year. They have played impressively in the first half or first three quarters before, only to implode late in the game.

I still agree with you that Hawaii is not very good, but it might take a BCS team better than 8th in its conference to expose them.

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, this was a BCS team that is last in its conference and they pretty much DID expose them.

Anyone want to guess what the spread vs. Georgia/LSU will be? 20?

[/ QUOTE ]

Your words in the other thread were "pwned the heck out of the Rainbows".

You talk all this [censored] cutting down Hawaii and then when they win a tough game, you cut down the team they beat? That's about as hypocritical as it gets, man. Worst. Argument. Ever.

[/ QUOTE ]

How is it hypocritical. Getting dominated by a last place major conference team early then luckboxing out a late win do nothing but prove that they are a fraud who deserves zero top 25 votes.

I think they'd do well in the ACC, Big Ten, and Big East. Undefeated? NO. .500? No. somewhere in between. This is a solid team.

You've been inconsistent enough just in your comments about this game.

They've beaten everybody who had the balls to face them. You'll never know how well they'd do because the mainland teams keep ducking Hawaii. They don't want to get embarrassed, plain and simple.

By the way, they're the Warriors.

See, I can't argue with you because you're never going to be reasonable. I see a guy like Colt Brennan complete like 80% of his passes for 500 yards and 5 TDs and I see a hard fought win to battle out of the hole they put THEMSELVES in. You sit and talk about it like Washington did anything special.

As assani pointed out, you were also talking before the game about how Washington had played close games and were better than their 4-8 record. Which is it, sir? Are the Huskies the scrappers that are better than their record or are they just the bottom feeders?

Show some goddamn honesty and maybe we'll be able to talk.

Even so, you can't discount everything Hawaii did as late game clutch luckboxing and then turn around and say that Washington hitting a deep bomb late wasn't lucky, but the interception clearly was? Look, I agree with you, overtime against Louisiana Tech, San Jose State, and having to come back late against Nevada say it all, this is not an elite team, I just think you're being too harsh on them tonight.

Boise State's blowout of Oregon State was much better than any of Hawaii's wins this year, and overall they were much more impressive in the Wac. Last year Boise would have been a good team in any conference, Hawaii this year, not so much.

FWIW, I think Illinois in the Rose Bowl is a way worse indictment of the BCS system than anything involving Hawaii.

Listen, I've been on the anti-Hawaii train all year. They played a terrible schedule early in the year and they'll likely get roasted by LSU or Georgia.

However, they went 12-0 including winning 3 fairly difficult games that I personally expected them to lose. At this point, just give them their shot to pull a miracle against an SEC power in the Sugar Bowl and if they do it, maybe give them a share of the title. What's wrong with that?
