HSP: change to round of each?
 

I'm assuming this has been discussed before, so sorry for the repeat topic.

It seems like a logical progression: these are action guys and PLO is an action game. It facilitates gambling and (arguably) gives the good players less of an edge over the bad. It would also be a reflection of how popular PLO is becoming. Any other game would be untenable (maybe PLO8).

Does anyone know whether this has been considered by the producers, and if not, why not?

four cards... that's like 2 times more confusing than it is right now.

I think we are good with holdem for a while.

I think it would be an okay idea if in the future if they moved the show to 2 hours to maybe have the last 2 weeks of it a bigger limit hold'em game and omaha game.

So 16 episodes..2 hours of NL hold'em for the first 14 weeks and the last 2 weeks a mixture of 4000/8000 limit and pot limit omaha (whatever they agree to play).

Changing it all to Omaha would be a huge gamble.

I'm afraid that Holdem is not just popular by accident, but rather having only two card hands has a lot to do with it. It's much easier for even the donkiest of the viewers to become familiar with the hands played, since there are at most 169 of them (and in reality much less when you ignore all the trash that even Gold doesn't play).

I would love to see them televise to 1000/2000 NLHE/PLO game that was running during the WSOP.

I am a poker junkie ( for almost two years now ) and while I understand, and can play the game (badly), I don't think it would be good for HSP at all. The audience would dwindle. I love that show, and i try to turn my friends onto it, which is hard enough, if they were playing omaha, forget about it.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Mixing in PLO might be a good idea for the European cash game show however.
