4betting theory

I used to routinely 4bet AA/KK, but it seemed to insure that I never got paid off unless Villain had AA/KK as well. Then I got the idea that I could 4bet stuff other than AA/KK and take down a lot of pots preflop. This, however, meant me getting owned whenever Villain had a monster and never getting my money in as a favorite. So I stopped 4betting at all, hoping that disguising my hands would get me paid off postflop. Sometimes this works, sometimes it's spew (since some Villain's 3bet light but won't pay off light postflop).

So now I'd like to know what the general consensus is on 4betting.

I have seen posts and videos by players who say they essentially never 4bet preflop because it makes it makes it obvious what they have when they do so and also obvious what they don't when they fail to do so.

I've seen other posts and videos by players who routinely 4bet some pretty marginal hands when they think they're being 3betted lightly.

Assuming 100bb stacks and a fairly aggressive 6max game, do you 4bet? If so, are you always 4betting AA/KK or are you sometimes flat calling these as well? What other hands will you 4bet?

If you 4bet, are you shoving or only making a pot sized reraise? Does it depend on position?

Also, how will Jay Cutler fare with the Broncos this year?

Thanks

I 4bet tons of [censored].

If you're getting 3bet light, pretty much the only way to play back is to 4bet. As a result, you cant just 4bet trash, so I 4bet AA/KK.

And yes, I constantly get paid off by TT+/AQ+.

Flatting AA/KK pre is fine sometime, but 4betting shld be your default play imo

I used to 4-bet shove the top 30% of my range when 3-bet. Worked quite well. lol variance tho.

the top 30% of your opening range? Do you carry your balls in a wheelbarrow?

Against what I believe to be a light 3bet. I will 4-bet shove AQ+.

Cutler will do well this year, as will the Broncos on the whole. A see a wild card in their future most likely. Stay away from Cutler from a fantasy perspective, though (unless he's some late round flier).
