Are the FTP pros \"phoning it in\" during FTOPS?

The disparity between how well the FTP pros do in the FTOPS and how well the Pokerstars pros do in the WCOOP is massive. There have been so many early busts for FTP pros in this FTOPS, it's hard to believe.

Anyone got a take on why this might be?

You're the same goose that berated the beginner in the other thread.

Maybe I'm dense, I don't know. Maybe you can explain it to me?

I thought OP said that they bust EARLY, as in do not go deep. Thus, the amount of dead money on the table is ENTIRELY irrelevant to the post. read gooder troll.

IMO, the amount of dead money in BOTH tournaments is HUGE, so your explanation explains nothing.

Some of them (all?) I'm sure are required to play under their contract, but at the same time don't give two [censored] and goof around and bust. I played against Tuan Lam in one of the WCOOPs and bluffed my stack into him calling with bottom pair when he was obviously just trying to bust out so he could do something telse. He proceeded to donk off his stack relatively quickly after.

On Stars, they get free entries into the WCOOP events, and for some of them that is a big part of their compensation. It was kind of comical in $5K WCOOP HORSE event where all these Stars pros were some of the deadest money there. They get these deals through NLHE tournament play and some of them have no idea how to play the stud games.

I think FT may also give them free FTOPS entries.

Also, a few of them are really strong pros, but a lot of them are more at the level of the pros and strong amateurs typically in these forums. These FTOPS events have plenty of pros playing in them, and the FT official pros are not all much better than average players in these events.
