I don't often use the word ironic since I still don't know exactly WTF it means, but I find this story to be ironic. Especially so when you read Rather's complaint. He is suing because the network unfairly reported Rather's involvement in the story about GWB trying to get out of real military service. I'm sure most of you remember the story and the alleged doctored evidence.

I'm not exactly a fan of network TV news reporting but IMHO, Rather was the worst of the bunch in terms idiotic uninformative news reports. That is until Katie Couric arrived with her debut report on the first public photos of Tom Cruise' new baby.

Imus settles for $$$ after suing them, so why not Dan.


It would be cool if there were a bunch of "revelations" and a nasty fight though.

I never thought i'd say it, but I kinda miss Dan. I would watch the CBS Evening News just to see how bad it would be. During the Presidential campaign, I really miss Dan. He absolutely refused to use the word "debate." He always used the term "joint appearance." Even when the CBS graphics used the word "debate," Dan would have none of it. I wish one of the anchors would break out candidate "joint appearance" just for old time sake.

When he's done with CBS and Viacom, hopefully he'll use the money to go after FreeRepublic, NewsMax and Fox for slander and defamation.
