George Bush Sr. attends Lay funeral

This should show you who and what Republicans care about. George Bush Senior attended the funeral of the notorious corporate criminal Kenneth Lay. He went their to 'honor' this disgusting criminal, typical outrageous Republican behavior.

Indeed. Make the most of it. Revel in it while you can because more will come down the pike to supplant the current outrage. Reminds me of the funeral of Richard Nixon attend by all those former U.S. Presidents.

[/ QUOTE ]Indeed. The eulogies were nauseating.

If I'd been invited to speak, I'd have said very little. What is it that moms everywhere are saying? "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything".

I guess the old adage about whores, politicians and buildings getting respect in old age, still holds.

This post is stupid. Anyone else would be lauded for sticking by their friends in times of trouble. It's not like the guy expressed support for his friend's criminal activity. It was the freaking guy's funeral.

What is outrageous about attending a funeral? What would boycotting the funeral prove? He's dead, the guy has family and has been disgraced as it is.

People just want to criticize anything someone named "Bush" does. There is plenty to criticize. We don't need to make stuff up.

Disclaimer: I have not voted for a Republican -- for anything -- since 1984.

Wasn't Lay just a old senile dumba$$ that was in denial as to what others were doing to the company? At least that's what I watched one of the key whistleblowers say on the news. If that's true then I really don't see a problem with him attending the funeral.

Aah, it's not a big deal, but I think it was a political faux pas.

I really think this Lay guy was a total wuss; he can ruin thousands of lives and then has heart attack from the stress of having to go to jail? What a pansy!

Why does George Bush Sr. have to care about a "political faux pas?" The man is a private citizen.
