SNG heads-up etiquette (disconnect)

i had an opponent disconnect during heads-up and of course i ended up with most of the money until he came back up..... and he seemed mad at me, not just at the fact he was disconnected (and yes, it's happened to me quite a few times, or worse been disconnected in a cash game with nut flush)

is there some kind of etiquette i was supposed to use? was i supposed to let the clock run down low before betting? or was i supposed to lose half the hands on purpose to maintain level?

it seems to me like having a good internet connection is part of online poker expertise, like being in shape for tennis. (and as i said, i lost lots of $$$$ before because of a wonky connection).

i'm seriously asking although i think i know the answer....

thanks in advance!!!

id say its personal preference, if the person is being a jerk throughout the game and DC's i rush the play. if its a quiet game where neither of us are talking or if we're making nice comments (nice hand, didnt expect that, good job...etc) i let the clock run to near 0. just my 2 cents

you took advantage of his cheap internet ... i would have done the same thing ... this is about money ... you did what any other player would have done (except for Andy Black) ... look at it this way ... he would have done the same if it happened to you

Not only is it correct to kick your opponent when he is down, it is correct to rip the still beating heart out your opponents chest and show it to him before he expires.
That is all.

hey, i didn't know michael jordan or tiger woods posts here.....

anyhow, i agree and appreciate the responses so far...

and i think 90%+ players would do the same, unless there was a large online crowd in which case i think people might go slower.

I try to take my opponent's chips as fast as possible, and I expect him to do the same if I disconnect.

Steal the blinds until your opponent comes back.

I think if you're willing to allow the clock to continually run down till your opponent gets back then poker isn't the game for you
