I would have folded the turn fwiw [/ QUOTE ] Why? getting 3:1 on a 4:1 draw are pretty good odds, you just need to get another $ from villain to break/even, i think that's doable. |

Re: ***uNL Microbrew Thread*** NOV 2007 (ot)
I am not running well today, lots of coolers and bad beats. So I play half an hour of 10NL with the following guidelines:
1) raise ATC from the button if not raised. 2) raise a lot from CO (if button will fold enough) 3) play normal in other positions 4) second barrel if remotely sensible 5) bluff wet flops a lot 6) valueshove sometimes 7) cbet in multiway pots unless a compelling reason not to do so presents itself 8) make sure I am the aggressor, do not call shoves light, BUT shove light myself. The results: http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/1...9ftwyb9.th.jpg I am seriously doubting whether ABC TAG is the most profitable style. But of course I run hot in this sample 71% W$SD is insane high. |

I'm running at ~5PTBB/100 over 15K hands and I feel I could do a lot better at this level. |

I want to get some coaching as well. I had talked with ssdex about some coaching but he is hard to get ahold of. My thing is with my $600 bank roll one coaching session from alot of those guys is like over 25% of my roll. I think alot of those guys dont give a crap about you. I would rather find someone who had a genuine interest in my development.

Thac - Good job. Makes me realise how bad BR management paired with multiple withdrawals results has slown my progress as a player, despite playing 350k hands lifetime for a decent rate.

Re: ***uNL Microbrew Thread*** NOV 2007 (ot)
I think if someone is doing a coaching and staking deal then they are alot more invested in your success, but some of these guys are charging 150-200 an hour and I mean come on. I would like someone who is confident enough to coach me now keep in contact and once I get to an agreed upon br I pay them for them, kind of a put your money where your mouth is approach

Re: ***uNL Microbrew Thread*** NOV 2007 (ot)
No worries. How many tables are you playing? You could 8 table 6000 hands in about 7.5 hours. I've done it a few times but it's pretty mentally brutal.
Make sure you take a solid 15 minute break every 1000 - 1500 hands or so. Also, I have found myself at the end of a few of these sessions just completely glassy-eyed and clicking buttons without even realizing what my cards were. It's a great way to lose a lot of money. Be careful and be honest with yourself when it feels like it's time to take an hour or two away from the screen. Your last 2000 hands will be much more profitable, I guarantee it. |
