I played 15 hours earlier this week and dropped over 70BB. Even though that was multiple sessions, its really just one painfully long session, right?

Sweet. +65 BBs today.

I don't know but I just put i've put up two -60s in my last four sessions in L.A. And before this week started I was lamenting that I'd been breakeven since the beginning of October. Oops.

3 handed 80, I raise the button with K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]10 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], BB3 bets, flop J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4 bets go in on the flop, Turn A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], He bets and i decided that that A just has to be too scary for him to continue and raise he insta 3 bets i call...River Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and BB ends up all in after 8 betting the river...
Couple of hours later. We bumped it up to 1-2 and BB 9 bets all in on the river again while holding AJ. Board looks AJ9xx...AJ vs 99...

Vegas kicks me in the rear, Commerce shows me who my real daddy is.

Hit the nut str8 in a six way pf raised pot on my first hand for a $600 pot. Next set of blinds I catch AA. Three bet to me and I just call in another 6 way pot, capped off, and I c/r 3 bet the flop to clear half the field and take down another $600+ pot.

just wanted to say that its pretty awesome playing live where nobody understands poker.

when we were playing 75 on friday there was a normally tight player that clearly thought DD was awful (he 3bet T5s and showed it down among other things). of course this same player showed down some similarly strange holdings played much more passively/incorrectly and also played many of his good hands in bad/unorthodox ways. btw no this person is not me and this person is not alone in thinking DD is a huge fish at this casino. of course all these people also think roc is a genius (play 1k/2k = superstar) and while i dislike playing him lhe he has pretty obvious never folding/random self destruct for 5BB on turn leaks

its like some of these people have learned enough from somewhere that they can barely survive playing 7+ handed but as soon as it gets shorthanded, especially 5 or less, it is just a hopeless situation bc they are basically playing a completely different poker game than before and it is a game they barely even understand the rules to. it gives me hope that maybe i wont break even for the rest of eternity.

Could be Dude, it happened in AC this weekend to me on Friday. Got most of it back yesterday.

My aces go cracked three times, cold called by an 8-4 suited, and a better player who called four bets cold with a 10-8 from late position when I was UTG. I forget exactly what happened the third time, but everybody into the pot on the Friday after Thanksgiving....

HOWMANY, its scary that I'm not even positive which guy you are referring to because there are multiple choices, but the funniest part (for me) of the session was for whatever reason we were discussing online poker and my website, so I gave that kid a DC business card and then had to tell him several times throughout the night "no we don't teach that".

here was a beauty that i forgot about from friday that exhibits what it takes to beat nosebleed games live and why we will probably never play as high as this person has:

step 1 open utg 8 handed or so with K6s and get 3bet by dd who holds QJ. now 4bet all in for your last chip

flop QJ3. turn K river 6

DeathDonkey 11-26-2007 12:58 AM

Re: November Low-Content Thread

To be fair I think his play was fine considering he was about to blind out of the tournament.

How about the bet/3 bet with the naked gutterball hand?

imo deathdonkey's play there is much worse than K6s given stack size

EDIT: well, not if he was in a blind

hahahahaha my [censored] eyes are watering from laughing so hard, this is pure gold

the T7 hand is completely standard. also completely standard is that against good players he hits every time but against random retards you get to hear "you win" after he is called on the river.

stinkypete: no, dd 3bet him from mp somewhere. btw if dd was the button in this his play is prob okay bc roc will open wide range here bc he does not want to take bb and be forced to 3bet all in on his next hand so QJ should probably stand up fairly well with $125 dead money in there.

Looks like two fish were playing this hand-one was just lucky enough to take it down. What were you thinking on the turn! If you thought he had a FD you would just bet out the CR seems silly as he is screaming QQ+ as a likely holding. He may have two pair + alot of the time inwhich case he'ed be posting about you

Re: November Low-Content Thread

So I show up to play 15-30 lastnight, not because I want to or feel like it, but because I want to get hours in and I was supposed to run into Brick there.

Instead, I have the good fortune of running into PJ, whose bigger game broke, and he was humble enough to sit in my lowly 15-30 game. I proceeded to play bad, fail to read hands well, select lines that sucked, lose focus on the action, and torch 50bbs.

Wowowowow. That was embarassing. I felt like Paul Newman after getting hustled by forrest wittiker in the color of money. "I showed my ass in there. I got nothing left to show you kid!"

Somehow, I either managed to bring my D game to the casino that night, or I was just confronted with a ton of situations that I habitually play bad. It was probably both really.

Which makes me wonder: Sometimes, when we play really well in a session, how much is due to being dealt familiar situations, and how much is it due to actually playing well?

Remind me to: not play on an empty stomache. Not drink beer while I play. Exercise more than 2x/month. I am turning into a sloppy bastard here.

Just kidding. I would take it easy on the bluffs, though. When live players call a turn c/r with an Ace on board, they're not folding a brick river.

so i was reading an email a friend sent me when i spotted this fantastic word: "orienteering". i'm a bit of an ocd freak when it comes to grammar/spelling (it wasn't easy to change my posting style) so i would normally have like a seizure when i see this word in the middle of a paragraph but it was just so hilariously out of place/not even a word that i just got a huge grin on my face and started laughing.

unfortunately my fun was dashed a little bit when i looked it up online to see that it is actually a word but it most certainly did not fit the context of the sentence it was in. id be pretty lol embarassed if i was totally wrong and this word was in the right spot but i seriously doubt it so now i just have to enjoy pronouncing this word in my head a few times because it is so great and new to me (and once i forget it i will most likely never hear again in my life).

That post cracked me up even though I've seen it before.

Anyway, that is pokercharts.com.

Its something like $20 a year.

I really should be able to do an access database on my own, but because I'm forking over the money, it seems to ensure I take extra care in reporting each and every session. So whatever. I think its well worth it and I've been using it for almost 3 years.

While you may have done this back when you graduated in 1919, the universities of today are much much stricter on fraud and cheating.

It is a serious offense at most universities and never a smart idea from someone who is so close to graduation.

Also, it just never seemed worth it, when writing a boring paper is infinately times better than being expelled.
