Re: O8 World Champ. Of Online Poker (pokerstars)
Sadly, not playing...played last year and did well, but this year even though I satted into the $530 08, $320 o8, $215 HORSE and $215 Razz, I cashed them all out and squandered them all. Good luck to those playing. If by some miracle I build my roll back up well enough before then, perhaps those who are interested in trading pieces could pipe up here.

Good luck to you Dave. Please keep us posted if you do well.

Re: O8 World Champ. Of Online Poker (pokerstars)
I won a sat into the $320 but cashed it out. Sort of regret it now. Will probably try again and actually play if I make it...

Re: O8 World Champ. Of Online Poker (pokerstars)
I'll be in the PL one.
|
Re: O8 World Champ. Of Online Poker (pokerstars)
I have a qualifier for the European Champ. of Online Poker tomorrow, figured why not, the PLo8 players I've seen so far are really really poor (its on the iPoker network)...
http://www.vcpoker.com/tournaments/ecoop/prizes.htm I might try for WCOOP but it looks like satellites end on Saturday, not sure if I can get money transferred in time, not that I would do any good but would be great experience. |
Re: O8 World Champ. Of Online Poker (pokerstars)
I'll try a SAT if they actually get one filled up
|
Re: O8 World Champ. Of Online Poker (pokerstars)
I would, but I didnt know about this and have no money on stars at all.
|
Re: O8 World Champ. Of Online Poker (pokerstars)
I'll probably play the LO8 one. I have some W$ to burn and it's worth a shot. The play in the FTOPS LO8 was atrocious, this probably won't be much tougher.

Re: O8 World Champ. Of Online Poker (pokerstars)
last year the play got pretty decent once things got deep, but the first 6-7 hours of the tourney the play was pretty bad yeah.

[/ QUOTE ] in comparison, I final tabled the WCOOP 7 card stud event last year, i pretty much suck at 7 card stud yet the field was so soft that i was one of the best players. for example, at the final table, big stacks were isolation 3-betting shortstacks with QJ8r ??? I actually scolded one of the big stacks, and Lee Jones who was doing live commentary warned me not to talk strategy during play, lol. |
Re: O8 World Champ. Of Online Poker (pokerstars)
The more I think about this, the more I can't wait. Long blind levels, very good prize pool, horrible competition...bring it on!!
|
Re: O8 World Champ. Of Online Poker (pokerstars)
I'm pretty sure I'm playing the limit one (like 75% sure) depending on how much classwork I have on my plate.
I'm still 50/50 on the PL one. |
Re: O8 World Champ. Of Online Poker (pokerstars)
This should be obvious, but just a warning to those playing the $530 limit, it took like 6 hours to get to the money and I think I went out after around 8-9 hours, be prepared for a long haul.
Also, pure speculation, I think this year's field is going to be smaller, for numerous reasons, anyone else care to speculate? |

dave, I'd be in for a last longer pool between everyone who wants in.

Re: O8 World Champ. Of Online Poker (pokerstars)
I'm really considering putting money back into an online account for the first time in like 3 years just to play in the PL08 event.
Then again, sitting at the computer for 8 hours to inevitably get sucked out and probably miss making the money by one spot doesn't sound too inviting either. |
Re: O8 World Champ. Of Online Poker (pokerstars)
in for the PLO8 and LO8
the average level will be .... amazing in for a last longer as long as the amount is not too big or to low @dave what buy in do u plan for the LL? maybe this post should be in the mtt community poker? |
Re: O8 World Champ. Of Online Poker (pokerstars)
I would like to play but I am too greedy to pay 320 $

Re: O8 World Champ. Of Online Poker (pokerstars)
Considering that I can't seem to FT the 1.10 LO8 tournament and my showing in the $58 sat I played, I'll be better off watching from the sidelines. Good luck to davebreal and everybody else from the O/8 forum that participates. It would be nice to see an O/8 specialist take down today's event.

Re: O8 World Champ. Of Online Poker (pokerstars)
just because Ssship_it made it to the final table doesn't mean i won't continue to own him on PokerStars and Full Tilt.
actually, he probably owes me serious money, for all of the real-time "lessons" i provide him with. |
Re: O8 World Champ. Of Online Poker (pokerstars)
Skoal is an excellent player, but I refuse to see how pot-committing yourself (at least thats the thinking I'm assuming he went w/ since he didn't b/f to the flop raise) w/ a lead-out here on this flop is more profitable than a c/f.
The initial raiser is committed, why would he want to play this out??? This is actually an interesting choice (could have been posted somewhere other than low-content). The initial raiser may not always be committed. If he has a hand that's going low (let's say A247), he might fold here - and SKOAL's chances of winning the pot any other way are small. Also, it's good advertising to play this way if you want action when you do hit the flop. As it played out, oskar had a couple of overcards to the J plus two backdoor flush draws, which made it worthwhile for him to continue. But I think he might miss this flop totally enough to fold one time in five. So I like the lead out. I think you could make and argument for bet/fold considering the hand in isolation, but that's a bad line to take for metagame reasons. So in short I think SKOAL played it all right. |
