TI Poker Room Opening Wed 4/12

http://allvegaspoker.com/news_detail_157.html

The room is currently viewable (no drapes or anything covering it up so if you are curious you can take a look. If you aprk in the garage (or take the tram from Mirage) its located at the bottom of the escalator so you don't have to walk through the whole casino. There is lots of walk by traffic.

Its a nice looking room with 8 tables. They have the same tracking system they use at MGM with the dealer swiping players cards.

I was just there this weekend and couldn't figure out what that was. I thought maybe it was a tournament only room or something. Very cool, too bad I wasn't there next weekend.

I like the sound of Tangerine Mixer. I may have to swing by TI while I'm in town in May.

Has Kahunaville been moved or is it behind the Starbucks (were a restaurant used to be in the past)?

Just curious as I wasn't at the TI for some time.

Thanks
Shadow

I like the idea of offering different games, but let's be realistic. The games people who stay at TI will want to play are 2-4 hold 'em and baby no limit. Maybe on a weekend night they'll get a 4-8 game going.

Kahunaville is still there. The Poker room is closer to the casino (from the escaltor you would turn right to go to Kahunaville, but you go straight to get the Poker Room.)

Did they finally take out the baby/kids clothing store there? Talk about idiocy. They are trying to get rid of the mom/pop with the kids on vacation to see the pirates...but they opened a kids/baby clothing store right after they turned to TI a couple years ago.

I thought "TI" was a lot more fun when they were appealing to the mom & pop crowd. Now it's just lame.

I worked there a couple years ago. It seemed to me that the casino had lost its identity on the strip. They were trying and still are, to rebrand it more like a Hard Rock or Palms style and they got rid of what made them Treasure Island.

The Travel Channel didn't help at all. For over 1.5 years after the changeover and the 86ing of the Pirate show for that new "Sirens" show, they were still airing episodes of the "new stuff in vegas" and the OLD Treasure Island shows/events were all on there. People would constantly complain that what we had was not what was advertised on TV and that's false advertising...yada yada. Sorry folks, TC isn't advertising...its basically a documentary with false/out of date info.
