25NL: AA, monotone flop

I tanked on the flop raise. I knew I'd be committed, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to be. If I did want to I wasn't sure if I wanted to just shove or to try to let him be the aggressor (and fold if another heart comes).

I think flop is a shove or fold situation. I tend to lean toward shove.

If you're going to continue with the hand just call. Shoving is bad.

Re: 25NL: AA, monotone flop

Why is shoving bad? By just calling we allow pair + FD type hands draw to the flush and dictate the flow of the hand on the turn/river.

Not if you open push the turn. Should've put that in my reply above. If you want to continue call flop, push turn.

Chargers,

What does this gain us? We are pot committing ourselves by calling the flop there. Do you think villain doesn't realize this and might actually fold once he gets to the turn and we lead with a less than 1/2 pot turn push? I just don't see this happening as villain didn't shove the flop looking for FE, he made a very nicely sized raise. Not trying to argue but am genuinely interested in your thoughts.

They way I see it the flop is a fold or shove. If I had the suited A I'd push all day, but I don't here and I'm not sure what villain's raise means. He may be protecting a made baby flush, a set, or what he believes to be a tptk hand. It's also possible he's merely drawing to the NF with and AhQx or AhKx. Since he raises though rather than shoving I'm leaning more towards protecting than drawing.

I've attempted to PokerStove his range but am not certain I'm doing it correctly (trying to put in Ah and K/Q of another suit). Here's what I get though (and someone please help me with my PokerStoving technique if I need it):

So, in my estimate we are perhaps a coinflip on the flop, but if we pull out the AQo we are definitely behind. I think that without the suited A, history with this villain, or having seen him raise semi-bluffs that I fold on the flop.

I think that sort of range is too narrow for 25NL. His play was quite the anomaly, but he had KTo with the ten of hearts. I'm not saying I'd put that in his range, but I'd probably put a lot of Kheartsx and Aheartsx hands, KQo, queen with jack of hearts... I don't see why he can't be looking for FE. I'd just made a continuation bet and his raise wasn't that small. The reason I checked the turn was that I'd used up almost my entire time trying to figure out what to do on the flop so I figured he might see me as weak and bluff again. This may well have been a mistake though.

LC your range is too small. Villains play basically any Ahx,Khx,Qhx the same on these flops and they are basically coin flipping/slight favorite against us if they picked up a pair on the flop also to go with their heart.

I think chargers line is fine. We should open shove the turn though. You aren't blindly committed because more than 1/3 of your stack is in the middle. If the 4th heart comes, we are probably drawing dead and can c/f IMO.

If you plan on check/calling it off on the turn on any non-heart, just shove the flop.

Re: 25NL: AA, monotone flop

well the way i see it your already committed with a preflop pot of 3,65 and an effective stack of 20,90/3,65=SPR of 5,7 so with one opponent you can not let this go even with the harts on the flop.

Villian must have a hand he likes and by putting 10$ in the pot has committed himself to.

My guess is AhQ, AhK, JJ, TT, 33, 66, KQ

So push the flop because your both committed and the money is getting in one way or another.
You cab also call the flop and shove the turn this might push villian of a flushdraw tho unlikely and if villian is on a flushdraw do we want him to fold to a push???

overall i think pushing the flop is the best option because villian might lay down a hand like AsQ KsQ when a hart hits the turn.
