I wonder if Thanksgiving makes games fishier because people are home from work/school, or if it keeps people off their computers (and with their families) and leaves only low-life degen nits like us...

(FWIW, I'm spending the day with family and not playing poker, but I'd probably play normally.)

After the lengthy thread where AMA and corsakh discussed the pros and cons of 3-betting 99 and TT, I was just wondering how you respond to a 3-bet?

I had 2 hands today where I raised TT and was 3-bet - I am going to post both hands as I think they were two very different situations.... what is your play in each situation:

BB is a solid TAG who I believe could 3-bet light but I have not seem him do it yet

Poker Stars, $0.05/$0.10 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter

Hero (BTN): $16.85
SB: $6.55
BB: $10.15 16/12 (400 hands)
UTG: $8.40
MP: $5.50
CO: $4.55

Pre-Flop: T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (BTN)
UTG folds, MP calls $0.10, CO calls $0.10, Hero raises to $0.60, SB folds, BB raises to $1.50, 2 folds, hero...

No specific reads on BB but he appears to be nitty and is shortstacked.

Poker Stars, $0.05/$0.10 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter

CO: $15.80
BTN: $13.50
SB: $10.25
BB: $5.15 16/8
UTG: $3.45
Hero (MP): $11.85

Pre-Flop: T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (MP)
UTG folds, Hero raises to $0.40, 3 folds, BB raises to $1.90

Didn't really want to create a new thread, but would be great to hear what you think is the best course of action for both these hands

hand 1 call. Stack sizes are borderline, however you have POS and he will stack off on alot of flops. You have to be willing to make some plays though. I would float alot of A high flops.

hand 2. Mucking time. implied odds aren't there and hes a huge nit.

OK - thanks - I folded both times, but was unsure about the first one... I reckoned I was probably ahead, but he had not 3-bet me before and I didn't want to get myself into a tricky spot on the flop or turn.... or stack off with an overpair....

yes

hes still calling with a flush, and he has a higher boat almost never (77 makes th emost sense and you already have a 7 blocker)

Re: ***uNL Microbrew Thread*** NOV 2007 (ot)

But is he really calling a shove - he was really passive... I would have shoved but thought he would probably fold...

I have to say - was multitabling and looking at the hand, he almost certainly has a flush and is not folding it, so maybe I should have shoved. I think I was pretty busy on another table where there was a 100/97 (yeah - seriously) sitting 180BBs deep...

I already did. Seriously I got coolered so much today. Flop a flush getthis guy to put all his money in with AK and he has the Ace of diamonds and the four flush hits the river. QJ vs QJ on Qxx board hits runner runner flush. If anyone wants some of my money before its gone let me know. It will be gone very very soon.
