Since we can see all the Aces, what could Seat 8 have to put in that much action? Hero's got one out to fill up and needs 2 cards to make any kind of low. I think it's a good fold, and by extension think capping 4th is wrong as well.

If you can tell me who seat 8 is I can probably name at least one hand he's played retardedly enough to make me not fold here.

I understand exactly what you're saying and the reasoning behind the fold, and it looks like it was probably a good laydown but I've seen so much retarded stuff that it's hard to fold. If you didn't have the A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I think you need to showdown for sure.

Re: Stud8 Aces up fold

Why are we jamming fourth with this ridiculously dead hand against A6 and a player who thinks betting into A3 and A6 is a good idea? If he has the slightest clue we need to slow the hell down, and if he doesn't we can't fold fifth.

Re: Stud8 Aces up fold

wow That would be tough for me to fold considering there's literally only about 1 hand he could have there unless he's on some insane bluff, which as said already I've seen some really terrible moves by other people in spots like this before, at this level and a little lower. Really gross position for you, but I would imagine it was a great fold.

Re: Stud8 Aces up fold

BTW if this is a HORSE game it's an auto call down as he can be retardedly raising AJKA or whatever.

I thought that by capping 4th I could see if would still lead 5th, allowing me to make what I thought would be a smart fold. Otherwise, it wouldn't be as clear, and it might cost me on the big bet streets.

What do you put them on? Look at our boards from the J's perspective.

What this guy said. Capping fourth and folding fifth don't make any sense.

Andy, did you read my response to him?

Re: Stud8 Aces up fold

I totally buy capping Fourth. The Jacks could be trying to get value from multiple low draws, and Hero is way way ahead of all hands with a Jack in them except one.

When the Jack leads Fifth into what could be two made lows or a low and Aces+ (asking to get raised in other words), that narrows his hand range down to that one hand hero isn't beating.

I have no beef with the cap on Four, and I think the fold on Five is, like, the kind of poker I aspire to.

good fold, one i'd never be capable of making...

however i still dont think he was rolled up for some reason, results?

Re: Stud8 Aces up fold

Does that sequence really make you that much more confident that the other guy is rolled? When he three-bets on fourth, it either means trips or brain damage. The cap followed by the lead on fifth doesn't really change that. If you're going to fold to the bet on fifth--and I'm not suggesting that you shouldn't--you should fold to the three-bet on fourth.

IMO the 4th Street action gives away seat 8's hand to one thing. If he doesn't have rolled Jacks, then he:

o called a completion from an Ace which were totally live on 3rd with JJx
o bet into someone showing strength with an Ace and another low draw who just caught an Ace, and then 3-bets with JJAx

Are they that aggressive at 30/60? Granted I dump my big pairs at the drop of a hat, but this seems suicidal to do so without having JJJ and which is why I would slow down on 4th.

He had rolled jacks. The other guy had a made 8 on 5th.

I think once three bets go in the cap makes some sense. But it's obvious from his lead villain isn't afraid to get into a jammed pot on fourth, and I think it's a bad idea to give him what he wants.
