I loved watching this show the first time around and I think the Hulkster will ramp up the entertainment value. Now if they would only hire the Macho Man to provide color commentary.........

I watched part of the old American Gladiators on ESPN Classic last week and ran across this news on Wikipedia. I have to say I was/am pretty excited. Let's just hope they keep the sweet feathered hair on all the gladiators.

Variety reports it as a midseason replacement, so probably as a February sweeps special.

i hope the new version upholds the standard! my fiancee and i recently stumbled onto an american gladiators rerun, watched the whole thing, and lamented the show's passing. she was on a ninja warrior tear for quite a while. i theorized that gladiators was a better show, but now i'm pretty sure because i'm no longer running on pure nostalgia. i'm kinda surprised that it was still in syndication, but perhaps they were already ramping up for a return.
