15/30 AK

I raise UTG+2 with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and get one cold-caller in lmp, the SB calls and the BB calls. The LMP seemed loose, but I really didn't have any reads.

Flop: Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
SB checks, BB bets, I raise, LMP calls two cold, SB calls two cold, BB calls.

Turn: 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
SB checks, BB bets, I call, LMP calls, SB calls.

River: T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
SB checks, BB thinks for ten seconds and bets

I would call. You will be losing to BB a fair portion of the time, but are likely now way ahead of both LMP and SB who you would have heard from on the turn if they are holding flushes.

Awesome analysis, guys.

I raise because I have a straight. It's an awesome hand, and the way the hand was played, I'm not too concerned about a flush.

I call for over-calls, so there.

Re: 15/30 AK

Is BB thinking because he turned his flush and wonders if he can get in a river sexy? I don't think so. Why would he bet into the PFR on the flop with a flush draw? I think he has a hand like AQ or QT and wonders how thin his value bet is. LMP and SB would have to be quite foolish not to raise their flush on the turn, so I think the straight is good here.

I won't say any more, because my anus is still bleeding from the treatment I got after going for an overcall in a BBV post.

I'd be quite surprised if we were up against a flush, as if this is a thinking player at all that flop bet is strange. AQ or QJ seem much more likely to me.

However, I would also be quite surprised if we didn't collect more money by calling here. I think at least one of the fine gentlemen behind you will overcall.

Re: 15/30 AK

I think you just call here. The existence of three players still in the hand makes a flush a genuine possibility and if you are ahead, you don't want to blow players with only single pairs out of the hand. A raise would scream AK to anyone who is sitting on, for instance, a pair of queens. Call, hope you get overcalls if you are ahead and be happy you didn't raise if you are behind.
