200PS: Bottom set in SB vs BB limped pot
Villain is 36/10 over some hands >50. He's been somewhat tight aggressive postflop.

Re: 200PS: Bottom set in SB vs BB limped pot
My guess that you're facing either a higher set or a monster combo draw (flush draw + mega straight draw). You're either drawing dead or in a race. Unless this guy is raising with air, which I doubt given your read.
I don't know jack about PLO. The only thing I know is that bottom set is a pain to play, especially OOP. |

call and proceed from there, probably give up if a straight- or flush card arrives.

fold preflop?

Re: 200PS: Bottom set in SB vs BB limped pot
I'm pretty loose in the sb and I usually fold this pf.
This spot is pretty crappy. If BB is a good aggressive player, then he knows he can use his position + deep stack sizes + many scare cards on the turn to take the pot away from you and could be semi-bluffing light here. Looking at this in a vacuum, I would repot this now. You will have a much better idea of where you're at, though it's still murky. If he raises you again you can safely fold, but if he calls be ready to lead on a lot of scary turn cards. You want to do this because the card might not have hit him, and if it did make him a better hand, he might just flat call the turn and you will be given a chance to outdraw him on the river. If you lead out on the turn and get raised, I would dump it. I think you can even make a justification for folding since you might be more likely to lose a lot then win a lot. |
Re: 200PS: Bottom set in SB vs BB limped pot
I actually think the best option is to raise to $38 and FOLD to a pot-sized raise. Calling is standard but you don't find out if you're oversetted and of course you have no redraws...
By reraising a little he can't shove with a bad combo draw -he must shove with wrap and nut flush draw, but he certainly slows down with any moderate to pretty strong draw unless he is a donkey. |

Is this preflop call a joke? This thread is a level?
