0.50/1 Limit TD, dealt a 97653 in CO

I was ridculed for how i played this hand. I know this would look funny if you couldn't see my hand. At the time I thought I had little choice but to play it as I did.

On a side note, is there a TD hand converter?

I don't mind it at all after the guy goes pat behind you, but I wouldn't have stood pat initially with your hand, I would have drawn one at 3567.

when you're faced with having to break a 97653, you are better off folding. the problem with drawing is that by breaking a nine you are assuming your opponent has a 8 or better. if you catch an 8 yourself, you will make the worst possible 8 and lose anyways. the only card you are hoping for is a 2, which you are not getting odds for especially when your opponents are holding on them.

Yep. If the player who raised was passive enough that you knew he was pat, go ahead and fold. In a bigger game you might try to power through him and make him break, but I doubt that's going to work here.

Otherwise you're fine. If you want to get really tight you can fold an unbreakable nine predraw, but I don't recommend it.

I fold this hand in the CO, raise on the button and stand pat (against the average blinds - however sometimes I I just fold if they are going to be tough to beat).

Regardless of the above, the advice you got was good. You must fold this hand when you see resistance, its unbreakable.

I wouldn't go that far. When you meet resistance, you have to handread, and you have to play the fifth-level game that's where the real fun of triple draw lies. A lot of times you fold. Sometimes you reraise. Sometimes you might even call a bet and break, though I think I've only done that twice.

Same with me, and I always regret it
