I know of you from your poker writings. I always played no-limit Texas hold 'em in the lower blind games. 1/2, 2/5,5/10. I played in some single tables and then sold it when I won. I never played in the World Series tourney events. I'll post something about Binion's some day.

you decide ---
In one post the OP said "Stu died in a hotel on freemont with $58 bucks in his pocket" or something close to that...

When in fact Stu died in a porn movie hotel on Las Vegas BLVD. (was shut down a few months ago) with $800 in his pocket. This is written in every obituary notice and all the books about Stu "The Kid" Unger.

Wouldn't an imposter be MORE likely to get easily researched information correct?

Right. Sounds like he has a fuzzy recollection, rather than being FOS. If he were FOS he would get the story right. If he were not FOS, but were working off of old recollections, he would get the general gist right and some details wrong.

Could be.
I have been on a mission this week trying to find out more on Johhny. But as of today I have yet to find anyone from the "OLD DAYS" who remember this name.
He may be the real deal though. Just not convinced yet this is not a bluff. I may have to call the river just to see what he opened with.

You can read more of his stories on the Poker Pages website:

I've been enjoying the ones about poker games in Texas.

Please, please, please, can people stop using poker terminology in every day speech? It's so bad. Seriously.

What exactly are you trying to prove here Don? The guy hasn't claimed to be anyone other than himself. He said he played 1/2-5/10 nl. Now, are you trying to expose him as not the real Johnny Hughes or are you trying to expose him as a nickel and dime gambler who only claimed to play higher?

I think it's important to accurately define how you are wasting your time and accomplishing nothing here.
