Noob Hockey Question

On BetJamaica I'm getting the Blackhawks ML +160 and Vancouver -1.5 +155. Why wouldn't I bet both of these and hope Vancouver doesn't win by 1?

Is there any site where I can get NHL stats showing how often the favored team only wins by 1 goal?

Re: Noob Hockey Question

as long as it is not tied at the end of regulation you are in good shape, that would be a good bet.

If chicago wins they win, if vancouver is winning by one most likely they will score an empty net goal.

Re: Noob Hockey Question

If the fav wins by 1 ~22% of the time this becomes a losing bet.

You should bet these. Spiro needs a new yacht.

So I guess the question is how often does the favorite win by exactly one goal? I'm not sure where to go to research this.

Not every 1 goal game has an empty-netter. Just assuming that a 1 goal game in regulation will 'most likely' finish in a 2 goal margin without even looking into how frequently this happens is kind of silly.

Actually the question would be when does a favorite at this price win by exactly one goal. The research would be pretty easy to do but even without looking I can tell you it is greater than 1 in 5 .

Any chance I could get these stats? I've checked atsdatabase.com to no avail.

WagerTracker.com has the historical lines and final score. You'll have to go though them day by day.
